Is the PC version the best or should I emulate?

ps2 original on a crt

If you don't mind the forced 30 fps, you can try the PC version.
>>
>>726045946
not reading that essay
>>
>>726045898
>>726045992
all versions are 30 fps, it doesn't matter which you play
>>
wii version you can draw better
>>
>>726045898
pc is the best version
the game loves wasting your time and the combat is just a little bit too slow. Setting up a keybind that lets you change the game from 30fps to the normal 45fps is a godsend
>game runs faster when its wasting your time
>combat feels less braindead for 2 year olds and more fluid
>movement is more fluid when youre just rushing around like crazy
>if its something that needs 30fps to not look retarded you set it to 30fps
its perfect
>>
>>726046580
>from 30fps to the normal 45fps
*change the game from 45fps to the normal 30fps
Forgot to mention it takes some work to set that shit up though, vanilla has no such feature. i did it years ago so i dont remember
>>
>>726045898
PC version doesn't have the kino ending credits so it's objectively inferior
>>
>>726046580
Couldn't you use speedhack on other versions for same effect

PC I guess is best because you can use lossless scaling or smooth motion for 60fps. PC also has a mod to fix the ending credits and toggle some of the effects that are kinda ugly.

All versions are fine though.

i thought it was the same except the soundtrack

Cheat engine I presume? Setting your game speed to 1.5 would do that right? It's like playing the ps2 version with the fps unlocked.

dunno if this is helpful since it's old but this makes the game better
>>
>>726048575
ah I just checked and they updated the UI quite a bit so this is kinda useless but just change the dig / bite to a turbo button and add drawing assistance to the draw button(it makes you draw faster without having to hold multiple buttons)
>>
>>726045898
>Is the PC version the best
By most metrics yes, you can even get a dualshock 3 going and get the proper pressure sensitive controls if you want with a little work. If you check the PC Gaming Wiki you can even get a lot of mods that restore things to pre-HD like the credits.

I keep getting flagged for spam so I've had to untag all the anons but here is my reply to the various bad pieces of advice in this thread.

>wii version you can draw better
>What is a mouse

>Play at 1.5x speed
Don't do this shit, games are not meant to be played on fast forward. Enjoy it.

>B-but the credits!
Mods bring it back.

>lossless scaling or smooth motion for 60fps
You know that weird trumotion shit on TVs? Anon is saying do that. Don't do that.

>Macros
Try the game normally before you start editing the controls like this. It's a classic you don't need to do stuff like this. If partway through you feel something is annoying, then look up solutions like this if you must but try it as is first.

anyone saying this hasnt played okami past the age of 12
>>

I played Okami last year, got every steam achievement. Fuck you fast forwarding faggot.
>>
>>726050923

>>
>>726052512
Only once anons stop giving terrible advice for first timers in threads like this. I swear, besides that Silent Hill chad with his tutorial image, people here have the worst advice on how to get started with a game. You're going to ruin it for him. Fuck you.
>>
>>726052432
nobody enjoys watching the old man play his cutscene for the 3th time in a row when theyre trying to buy the 3th version of the skill
>>
>>726052734
You mean the transformation sequence he does that's totally skippable?
>>
>>726052665
>you're going to ruin it by giving friendly advice that makes the game better
>>
>>726052957
>Better is when you play a game on fastforward, with interpolated frames and external button macros.
Thanks for proving my point.
>>
PC version is fine as is, don't pay attention to the zoomers that need subway surfers modded into the game to play it
>>
>>726045946
The remaster actually doesn't suck. They upped the resolution (by hand, since the art style is all based on the models rather than just texture files) and added like 2 QoL things but otherwise left the game alone. It's the only remaster I've ever seen that's actually just "The game but with higher resolution"
>>
>the game being 60 hours long to 100% and featuring only 40 hours of actually playing the game is fine, actually
its funny how backwards /v/'s beliefs are when the game is old and they played it as a kid >>726053093
>>
>>726053219
This is a total poser ass take, this is on par with that do a barrel roll or hey listen shit when that barely even happened in the games. Okami has tons of gameplay back to back to back. It's quite rare to get in a longer cutscene past the intro.
>>
>>726052867
That Anon literally has not played the game since he was 12 and doesn't know the remaster lets you skip stuff. Now watch as he shifts to shitting on it for "letting brainmelted zoomies skip the plot"
He shows up in every okami thread to bitch despite clearly not knowing shit
>>
>>726053087
see>>726052512
those things are objectively good things
>>
>>726053149
The 30fps lock kinda makes it suck but yeah it's fine otherwise. It is not the original game upressed though, it's the PS3 HD remake which isn't exactly the same but close enough.
>>
>>726053542
I played the game on steam, I skipped cutscenes if I already saw them and was being forced to rewatch them. I actually have a confession, I've only played the HD version. I didn't have a PS2 when I was 12 and this is my very first Okami thread here. At least as far as commenting on how to play it goes.

>>726053554
You must love those epic anime in 60fps videos you fucking philistine.
>>
>>726053927
>don't play DMC with turbo mode
>don't play a 30fps game at 60fps
>don't save yourself some intense button mashing
>don't draw fast slightly easier
what the hell is wrong with you lol

>>726050923
I've tried afmf2 to bring it to 60 fps and it's fine when it works, but rapid camera movements severely fuck it. don't know of it it's the same with lossless, but it's worth a try.
im hoping that the sequel wont be locked to 30 because even 60fps frame gen makes okami look and feel pretty good.
>>
>>726053542
>He shows up in every okami thread to bitch despite clearly not knowing shit
take actual meds
>>
>>726052867
upon further inspection i didnt know that one cutscene was skippable because for some reason the OHD makes the default input "f1" and doesnt show you a prompt for it
>>
>>726053995
>Turbo mode is a legitimate mode in the game, often only included in definitive or bonus editions as a way to play through the game while keeping it fresh.
>Interpolated frames look like shit, don't reduce input latency and are for fucking plebs. I bet you watch films interpolated too you fucking child.
>I have to press buttons? In my medium where you press buttons? Whaaaaaattt?!
>don't draw fast slightly easier
What the fuck was this point? It's easy enough as it is. You want to set up a macro to play the whole game for him too? Maybe moving is too arduous, how about a mod where he can just click to where he wants to go? Fuck you.

>>726054210
Or, just play it as intended. It's so beautifully animated why mess with it? The sequel is probably not going to have this issue.

>>726054396
I just mashed start I think? I don't play much on a keyboard.
>>
>>726054637
>its only good if the developer adds as it as a game mechanic so its "official^tm you beat the game ^r"
dont be a dummy. If anything okami's combat is literally on the level of 5 year olds so you might as well speed things up when youre bored
>>
>>726054637
been a long while since I've seen a whiny faggot of your caliber
>>
>>726054795
>its only good if the developer adds as it as a game mechanic
Yes, good retarded anon. Now you're getting it. An intentional setting meant for a repeat playthrough is different than ruining the first with a fucking fast forward button. See, I knew you had it in you to have a coherent thought.

Hey champ, here's another one for you: If you think the game is boring how about you just play something else? How about Sonic Forces? You get to do a lot of running straight, skip every cutscene, much less of those pesky button presses and you don't even need to mash the QTEs so no macro required. There ya go bud.
>>
>>726055179
Must have been even longer since you've meaningfully contributed to a thread.
>>
>>726055216
reddit spacers are always so silly
you really believe its literally impossible for a game catering to 3 year olds to have a feature that may make the game more enjoyable for people of other ages?
>>
>>726055419
So called reddit spacing was being used here before you were old enough to get on the computer. How to spot a newfag, they mention reddit spacing.

>its literally impossible
It's a work of art, it's tight it doesn't need mods. Restorations, technical improvements (real ones, not fake frames and fast forward) sure. But to spoil a first impression like what was suggested? It's shit and it's sad you can't see that.

I doubt it, I played through the game twice in a row and I didn't even need to speed it up.
