Been trying to find an old indie horror game that would have been floating around the same time as the game "Which."
It was a FPS and you were a hunter out in the woods at night. Pretty sure it was snowing. Don't remember terribly much beyond the premise and that you were being hunted. Any help would be appreciated.
Also, feel free to discuss old indie horror games/projects.

I feel like horror and oatmeal getting popularized in the indie scene nowadays is a bit of a monkey's paw, I always hoped for it but now a lot of devs who don't truly appreciate either of those things are just making lame games with vaguely "horror" esque meme motifs and try and pass them off as horror just because it's kind of a trend now
It sucks

Anyway what's the premise, anon? Does it happen to have you going inna woods and getting hunted by weird monster women in the dark? Cause I think I remember something like that

I think jumpscare shovelware has been a thing ever since people started trying to ape Amnesia though

That's not quite what I mean, at least jumpscare garbage WAS horror, just shitty horror, and you could smell the shit from a mile away
I'm talking about how decent but uninspired and bland devs make "horror" which is never even actually horror just because it's popular now, no horror elements other than superficially "creeeepy" aesthetics that fail at being actually interesting

Oh well, at least the trend brought about some actual genuine horror loving devs out of the shadows, if nothing else

It’s not one of the Outlast games is it?

Like, spooky walking sims?

I feel like I've seen something like that back in the day but can't remember the details either

Pretty sure this was called The Hunt or just Hunt. No idea where to find it though. This was pre-itch.io, or at least early enough in its life to not be on it, so it likely exists on an indie game repository somewhere.

Ghoul's Forest?

Possibly Hide (2011)
Recall playing this one

I'm also on the lookout for a indie game that came out around the time when survival crafting games started becoming a thing. I think it had a gloomy kind of viking setting but all I really remember was staring on beach, making a campfire and it was all very gloomy and foggy. I think I saw a big troll or treant of something

OP Here. It was low poly and kinda reminded me of 2.5D. Not 100% it was using sprites as well, but it definitely felt "low fidelity."

Both of these sound plausible. The title was something short and began with an H, I'm fairly certain.

>I feel like horror and oatmeal getting popularized in the indie scene
What did anon mean by this?
>>
>>726054485
idk what part you're not getting? that those things are getting popular by indie nowadays?

Wasn't this, but a good guess. The one I'm talking about was much darker.
