Let's solve this once and for all: Is Final Fantasy 16 worth playing?
It's worth playing, but not worth buying.
I think most games are worth playing just to have your own experience and form your own opinion, if money is not an issue
yes if you like it
>>726048615I love it when underageb&s think money is the great bottleneck, not time
Fuck no
No, not at all.If you want an actual fun action FF game, play Kingdom Hearts or Stranger of Paradise
>>726048484>early demo sells it as a dark medieval drama>actual game has magic godzilla battlesWell then.
>>726048849Holy kino
>>726048484jacks game is both more fun/in-depth as an action game, feels closer to the "final fantasy but the protag is a gritty white guy instead of anime twink" the advertising promised and also more true to the original final fantasy games, so no not really
>>726048484Judging the game on its own merits I enjoyed my time with it. The highlights were higher than almost any other game out there but the things in between ranged between alright to extremely boring.
I often find that most games I play are worth playing just for the sake of experiencing it myself and forming my own view on it and I rarely regret playing games, even those I ultimately dislike because of it. That said, XVI was so derivative, uninspired and boring at every turn that it's an exception to that trend. I would not recommend this game to anybody.
Yeah it’s good
>>726048609This p much. Just go get it off steamunlocked and don't think about it after you complete it. Just put it in a box and say "well that was ff16 I guess" Has really good moments but honestly it's such a bad single player game.
>>726048484I like the varied gameplay and options afforded to you by having 3 element slots that each play pretty differently, and the boss fights where you play as your summon are the closest I've experienced to the Avatar battles from .hack//GU.
>>726048484i just didn't like the heavy lean into action and the 1-party team.I hope FF17 is the true return to form.
>>726048484no, it's only worth watching on youtube
yes but it's not a final fantasy or even an rpg
This game gave me the same feeling of sadness and despair 15 did, because it was plain to see the potential was there, but the devs just fumbled hard.
>>726048693>timeonly for people who have suckered themselves into normie slave lives
>>726048484Only if you have insomnia
>>726048484I felt it had the same problems that FFXIV has had since Shadowbringers. Some great highs, but most of the content is incredibly fucking boring. There's no bite, there's no friction, and the systems are too shallow for there to be anything you can sink your teeth into.
>>726048484Hell to the fucking no. This game killed my already slim hope of any game from SE or any modern game being good ever again.>boring as watching paint dry story that's only really at least a little interesting up to Titan>unrewarding, MMO style of exploration where you avoid enemies like a fucking MMO because it's made by MMO devs>unmemorable characters and unmemorable set pieces. Not one area stands out after one playthrough>linear hallway dungeons where you fight unremarkable enemies using your same combos into stagger into finisher. Rinse and repeat. Oh and the dungeons are forgettable too>no superbosses. Hunts don't count>no optional dungeons>stat gains are linear. Weapon and armor upgrades are linear. Level-ups are just a mark of where you are in the story and could have been done away with entirelySo many "gamers" aka redditors slob this games knob so much. It's fucking dogshit and if anyone here likes it you can fuck off
>>726048693Time is just irrelevant because its going to pass no matter what you do. There's no guarantee before playing a game if you're going to enjoy the experience but you will experience something that is valuable one way or the other
>>726048484Yes.**Only if you beeline the main story. The Highs are extremely high, inbetween is just okay. If you step out of line and start doing sidequests your impression will slowly sour. It's very plain these are MMO developers.
