Sonic has had several chances to kill Eggman but he lets the fatty go because he likes the challenge, it's a fun game to him. If Eggman was a killer, that would make Sonic responsible for the endless chaos and death. You don't really notice it in the games, you get the end credits after defeating him and it's fine, what a fun adventure that was. But if a Sonic story cares about continuity and has death in in, like the Archie comics, then Sonic is retarded for not just killing Eggman after the hundreds of violent schemes.
