Saga's story in Alan Wake 2 is about how Alan fucked up her life while trying to escape from his darkplace. He effectively ended her marriage and killer her kid. The Dead Space remake was also a sales flop so we're not seeing a 2nd game of that either. Probably doesn't help that AW2 seemed to be a very high budget game. It broke even this year at least so it'll probably be a decent title lifetime sales wise, but yeah big flops back to back will kill any studio either outright or creatively, look at Platinum or Clover.

Alan Wake 2 made its money back like 8 months ago. Control also took a couple years to break even. It took a while but it ended up being a success despite it being EGS exclusive.
