I didn't realize until recently that the English intro theme and the Japanese intro theme of Lunar the Silver Star on Sega CD had the same tune. I always thought Wanking Designs wrote a completely new song.
I thought about it a few weeks ago when I ordered an emulation chinkheld and thinking when or if I should replay the PS1 versions
Seems like this should have been made into an anime.

I stopped emulating and have been trying to get physical copies of the games before playing them because that's something 12yo me would want from his adult self.When I get the game I'll likely do a CD rip and emulate it from my phone.

These games are excellent in Japanese.They should be hanged for what they did to the localized versions.There's an interview with the original writers floating about where they are horrified at the changes they made to the games in America.

Thought about the series briefly when the remake came out. Though 2 games doesn't really make a series, imo. Not bad games, but not much really going for 'em. First one had songs, but not so much the second time, which felt a bit uninspired.

The story and graphics are charming, the characters are simple but good, the music is nostalgic. It's criminally underrated.
