I’ve never played an AC game before, is this a good place to start? From what I can tell it’s supposed to be the prequel to the other games. Also, does it still have the animus gameplay stuff like the first game did?

>>726069045It's a great game, but it's not really an AC game. It's a big RPG with an ass creed coat of paint. Iirc theres a bit of modern day stuff but it's minimal and forgettable. It's a prequel only in the sense that it's the 'origin' story of the assassins. Playing it or not playing it doesn't impact your ability to enjoy the others story wise. If you want more classic AC start with 2 or brotherhood. Also Unity was the best classic AC don't @ me

The only good AC games are 2 and Brotherhood. 1 isn't too bad but it hasn't aged well so a bit subjective whether it's good or not. The rest range from okay to outright dogshit, with a clear bias towards the most recent ones being the most shit.
