Made a thread a few days ago complaining about the combat.Since then unlocked some more arts and started trying to play more aggressively, which has been working out better than I expected on most enemies, so maybe I do like it after all. But now the game is too easy and still just feels like diet Nioh.Is Midnight something to look forward to or a pain in the ass?
>>726076846Did you try to get high ranks in the dojo fights? That shit is kino.
>>726077082Yeah just did a few yesterday at Sawamura's to max out the Hayabusa style. Kaiden is easy enough to get on anyone, gokuden can get pretty sweaty (second highest and highest rank respectively, wasn't looking at the English names for them).Mostly fun, but some can be a little bullshit, and I don't like being unable to use shuriken/gun/hook even in the "real" fights and even when the opponent does.
bumpening
>>726076846game is great to play in so many ways but something is undeniably off about it. feels like an elaborate prototype for open world nioh 3 level design steeped in some actually interesting japanese early-modern history and obviously sick combatthe lore / codex stuff is actually pretty cool and well worth reading
Still curious about the Midnight difficulty.
>>726083191its just Dream of the Nioh difficulty, everything is ramped up and attacks string will have red in between
>>726085396But is it fun? I did enjoy DotN enough to clear every single mission in it.
>>726085534if you enjoy the Ronin combat, the Midnight is more chaotic of course
>>726076846I've been meaning to play this again, pretty fun game, i lost my save and stopped like, a 4th of the way through the game but I was enjoying it a lotThe main thing that was keeping me from thinking it was amazing was that health bars felt a little bloated, especially bosses. I wish there was a way to just make everyone's health smaller so combat is faster and deadlier.
>>726080375It's just everything tied to the open world that was wrong. The individual missions and boss fights were great, but the majority of your playtime was spent in a poorly designed overworld fighting enemies that never challenged you at all.
>>726086145I didn't think it'd be a huge issue at first, but it really is too easy to just overlevel and melt everything.
>>726086734It's not just the stats of the enemies. I have my criticisms for them too, but the missions and the boss fights are a challenge to overcome at least. The bosses are obvious, but the missions have gimmicks and levels to work around even if it's something as simple as stealth killing people in order or dealing with weird terrain. There's something tangible there. You can't say the same for the open world where there's little to no thought put into their placements at all, they're effectively just standing in a circle on the map and they're not a combat challenge either. This is my biggest fear of what'll happen to Nioh 3 as well, but thankfully there's no evidence yet it'll be this bad.
>>726087473No I get that, but that part of the problem was already all but locked in as soon as they decided on the OW. Enemies scaling poorly, however, is not an inherent issue of it, but they fucked it up anyway.
saving the rare mystical ronin thread from page 10what was that patch a couple days ago about
>>726091239just for fucking Windows 11 crash
Did they ever fix the performance on this piece of shit?I own it but its performance on my PC for its level of graphic fidelity is insanely unacceptable (9800x3d and 5080)
>>726091908Nope, total ass. Have to use DLSS for a stable "1440"@60 with a 5060ti.
>>726076846Game definitely fucked up my Nioh 2 muscle memory. Keep pressing the wrong dodge button, and I keep thinking that I can jump
>>726076846No breast slider
>>726076846It’s one of those games that I always keep on my hard drive and like to mess around in every now and again. Nice fun little samurai power fantasy like way of the samurai. I just wish I could bring my self to use anything other than katana/duel katana.
>>726091974>5060ti>uses a 1080p for 1440p
