Despite a decent start, the tournament was soon marred by a major incident where anon revealed he had made over 200 throwaway emails and voted during round 1, claiming to have been voting against several girls during it. This included popular picks like Hornet, who lost to 2B after many had expected to go further coming off the recent release of Hollow Knight: Silksong. Anons inspecting the emails were able to confirm that he did in fact vote on the first round form. Not every vote lined up with who he said to have rigged against, with debate arising on whether he was avoiding too many duplicate votes to avoid suspicion or simply voting randomly, trying to take blame for certain losses after the actual results came out. Regardless, this incident unquestionably hurt how the authenticity of the tournament was perceived, and killed a lot of the energy going forward from it.
