I went to see the new Predator movie and while there was a lot that was good about it, so much of it was ruined by this obnoxious ironic non-stop quipping that is entirely out of place in a series like Predator and now Metroid too. Why does this shit keep popping up?

People will bring up the fact that there were NPCs in Prime 3, but fail to mention that the tone of the interactions with Samus and the NPCs themselves were all very serious and grounded. Not comparable to what we've seen from Prime 4 at all.
