Is it actually that good?
>>

What do you mean "that" good? It is a fine enough game with brawler style combat like say, prince of persia. Has some segments that are better than others, it is a good came for sure but I don't see people praising it like some crazy gold standard.

Yeah, but personally prefer every other game that came after. If you're thinking about buying (or pirating) it will be worth your time!

city was better

I beat it on console, I can't really tell you how pretty the game was because I played it in detective mode for 90% of the experience.

Did anyone ever beat the scarecrow challenge? The one where you fight a bunch of skeletons that one shot you and they eventually get guns.

>city was better
Lol no. The only thing that City had really going for it was some more varied environments and a final boss that wasn't bullshit.

Yep.

I played it this year finally and it was good. Then I played Arkham City which was alright. I didn’t even play an hour of the third one.

The whole series is incredible if you are or ever were a comic guy or a Batman: TAS guy.

Even if you're not, still probably worth playing at least the first two.

This one is my favorite just because it's not open world slop

Did anyone catch the game last night?

As a game? Fuck no.
It is a very nice virtual tourism piece though. The atmosphere, art direction and environments are absolutely lovely. Doubly so if you have nostalgia for the old Batman cartoon, because it's straight up tribute to that, down to voiceactors and all.

It's actually the only version of Batman adaptation I've ever felt anything but complete apathy towards: it is legitimately gorgeous, characters are lively and fun, it's the perfect blend of camp, gothic horror and charm.

But actual game itself? It's absolute fucking garbage. Hilariously fucking awful - combat, puzzles, "stealth", every aspect of it is about as absolutely atrocious. It's basically "everything bad about 7th gen - the highlight reel".
I know gaming is shit today, but Arkham games always remind me:
"Shit used to be a lot worse."
