you're going to buy the new steam machine, right anon?

It entirely depends on price. That's the dealbreaker.

What this anon said, but I also want to know what it could practically do as well. I've been using a 1050ti for close to ten years now so if it can outperform my current set up, which is very likely, I'm all in if the price is right. I'd probably just move my whole set up over if there's a good DAW on linux, or if I can just use FL Studio on it without any trouble.

Unlikely, but definitely need the controller ASAP.

I already have a pc
>>
>>726101927
No.
But only because I already have a much better PC and don't need Steam's handholding OS.

It's a good idea for most people though.
I wish they'd make a new SteamLink box though.

Honestly yeah. I just really fucking love the form factor.

I tried to make something like it a year ago and it was a fucking mess figuring how to tetris the shit out of parts while keeping the cooling decent.
>>
I have a $3800 desktop PC I got for free cleaning an old lady's house. Apparently her son made it and then left to college and then got married and stopped talking to her and left her to rot in some old apartment. I didn't care about any of that because I'm a heckin unwholesome psychopath so I convinced her it was garbage and ruined by someone spilling soda in it and I'd throw it out for her.

Anyway, thanks for listening guys. We going to the bar after this?

This. The only grill is on the back of the G-Cube , where does the cold air come from? Or does the fan alternates between sucking and blowing?

Like most people, it depends on what the price but it will be a decent upgrade than what I got in my current desktop. So maybe. My GPU is about to turn 7.

the conversation isn't relevant, they're obviously going to price it as competitively as possible, doing anything else would be stupid.
the steam machine will be the cheapest prebuilt on the market, they don't have to pay for a windows license and they can afford to sell at cost because they recoup on steam sales.

If Valve does their homework they can guarantee that each component that needs it gets adequate cooling. The PC solution is to stick a trillion fans to get an abundance of airflow.
>>
>>726102374
send pics of the pc
>>
>>726104738
the steam machine doesn't need good airflow because it's underpowered as fuck.
the cpu is 30 watts and the gpu 110 watts.

>muh my pc needs to draw 1000 watts

>>
>>726104936
i'm using under powered literally there anon, it's just a very efficient machine. i would know because i have a very similar setup.
as long as you're doing 1080p it will run everything under the sun for at least the next 5 years. ps5 is about as powerful and there's 100 million of those, so devs aren't going to stop making games for this hardware anytime soon.
>>
>>726102873
why do you people act like the difference between large heavy case #1 and slightly smaller heavy case #2 matters? do you ask the salesman how much a couch weighs before you buy it too?
>>
>>726102038
Too expensive for poorfags, that's fore sure.
>>
>>726102392
It's going to be $800 at least.
You just know.
>>
>>726105607
zen4 cpu, rdna3 gpu, ddr5 ram... yeah i don't think it'll be able to go as low as 600.
700-800 is more likely unless valve manages to strike some incredible hardware deals.

Is there any game that requires more than 8gb vram for 1080p?
>>
>>726101927
For what purpose? Having one in the middle of the living room while I already have a good desktop? You can just stream to your TV even with small factor raspberry pi based solutions.
Only reason to consider it is being a poorfag still running a 1060 and also being retarded because you'll then get locked onto their hardware with no possibility of upgrade other than the nvme which is basically the point of pc gaming.
Also curious about the thermals.

Bought the first Steam controller and Steam Deck (then later upgraded to OLED). I'll be buying the Steam Controller 2 day one.

That said, I'll be skipping this for a reason I'm sure you'll all find odd: O&OShupUp10+. If it wasn't for this ONE program, I would've gone to Linux years ago.

inb4 why not learn to use custom windows installers for privacy

Because that doesn't stop Windows updates from adding the bullshit back in. O&O just needs a quick update and it does. It had copilot shut down day one of release.

But it almost single-handedly solves all of my problems with Windows 11 and makes it a OS I can deal with. On top of it, I've gotten really good at making Windows work for me rather than against me. Once you know the secret sauce (use winget to update, revo to uninstall, setting Services, Task manager to turn off startup apps), it works really smooth.

>>726101927
Can't wait for tomorrow's Console-Tan Tuesday to decide on the design of this fucking thing.

>>726105542
Tech is usually cheap where I live, so if it goes for around 700~ dollars like the steam deck, I'll buy it in a heartbeat.

I'm willing to buy it, but I need to see footage of Oblivion Remastered, Stellar Blade, and Dragon's Dogma 2 being playing on the Steam Machine before buying it. My purchase depends entirely on how well it runs those demanding games.

Yes. Whatever. I've been wanting something so I can play my steam games and gog games, mostly old 90s shit, with a controller.

Maybe I can mod out some Skyrim because console mods sucks.

Not buying a new PC until tes 6, and I'm praying, despite knowing, that it doesn't suck. Because I'm so old, and such health issues, that tes 6 may be my last big release before death.
