A harsh world where curiosity will get you killed and if that doesn't sound bad enough your corpse would just sit there by the thing that you had no business messing with. Most classes can barely function without gear, so you would have to seekout someone to give you a buff to make the recovery, or maybe a necromancer to summon your corpse (in the same zone). Also there was no real wiki or maps available for the game, only a few classes could solo and it was always inefficient. You needed to find people to help you craft, travel, hunt and everything else. Does that sound bad? Well you are wrong, it was the best thing ever and it will never happen again.
