Am I missing out on the entire artistic expression of a game if I play it in a different way than it was originally intended? Like playing the game through emulation, playing on easy/hard/very hard instead of normal, etc.

Shut the fuck up

If devs made a game whose main point was artistic expression, they wouldn't add difficulty options
In fact, they wouldn't add any real gameplay in the first place cause artniggers are up their own ass

if you use stuff like save states, then yes
if you just emulate without using mods or save states etc. then no
