Original Steam controller: stupid (wasting most of the space on giant trackpads). Steam link: high latency and limited to 1080p60valve index: used to be competitive but is now far behind and being discontinued. Original steam deck: awful screen. Steam deck oled: bad screen resolution. Upcoming steam machine: bad specs and hardware. E-waste at launch. GPU significantly weaker than what you could get 7 years ago. Steam frame: you have to use the underpowered build-in hardware or resort to streaming with at bad quality and latency. Makes me wonder how they screwed up with the new steam controller. I didn't find any clear flaw in it based on current known info but knowing valve there is probably some big issue with t we will find out later.

>>726111181The iPhone is objectively the best gaming device because it makes the most money.
it will sell 1 million in 5 years and be discontinued
>>726111181Valve are master grifters so somehow they find a way even with scam products
>>726111181Steam controller > led to steam input, proliferation of gyro controlsSteam link > led to streaming and USB sharing over the network to any device with half decent chip in it over steam, including vr headsets.Valve index: full finger trackingSteam deck > led to proton, suspend and console like seamless interface with steamSteam frame > arm support for ×86 applications. First headset to natively support every vr game coming out. Foveated streaming solves bandwidth and performance related limitations on a wireless device.Steam Machine > extension of the entire ecosystem above. These devices could sell under 100 units and their development would still be a net positive for everyone. Or as many people like to say, valve doing 'nothing'.
>>726114489>Steam deck > led to protonProton existed for like 5 years beforehand. This point belongs to the original Steam Machines if OP had mentioned them.
>>726114445The have a lot of people shilling for their sub-par products similar to how a lot of people shill for their shitty game store full of DRM and some games come with malware (to the point where it's safer to use the better piracy sites).
>>726114757The original steam machines (some of which actually had decent hardware) weren't made by valve. They relied on third party manufacturers for them.
>>726115010how is that relevant?
Bruh you have your name on
>>726111181>bad screen resolution utterly retarded take
>>726111181The original steam controller was amazing, you are a retarded faggot
>>726111181The valve index is still fine imo. Although they really should reduce the price. It's hard to call it outdated when 0 VR games worth a damn have come out that it can't play.Shame they don't still make the Rift S honestly.
No one cares about your opinions, you fucking degenerate.
>>726115450720p was bad 10 years ago and it's not any better now. Even my shitty phone has a better screen resolution.
Steam deck
>>726115241It illustrates that steam themselves are generally bad at hardware and have to rely on third parties for it.
>>726111181>OG Steam Controller>Actual useful trackpads unlike PS4/5>Haptic feedback before PS5>Dual actuation triggers>Makes gyro useful unlike consoles using it as a gimmick>Sotfware stick calibration made it to rarely drift on its 10 years of life>Low energy consumption, a pair of AA last me 2 months>Shit ton of configurations thanks to Steam InputRetards like you complaining about the trackpads are the reason why most of controllers haven't evolved shit and then boast that mkb is superior
>>726115983They still refuse to make any model with more than 512GB of storage. And no you don't want to install games on an SD card. Even the OLED model has a sub-par screen.

>>726117643More like it illustrates that Valve is great at hardware shit since the only Steam hardware that was bad was not made by them.
