Hollow Knight felt like a mediocre retread of Dark Souls 1 with the least inspired core 2d gameplay imagineable, while Silksong feels like an entirely unique adventure that capitalizes on the few strengths HK. It has stronger core gameplay, stronger sound design, stronger aesthetics, and is basically just a better game in every single way. While it may have more fetch quests and backtracking, the core gameplay is fun enough to make these things worth doing on their own.So, with that in mind, why are there HK fans who claim to prefer the original? Is it terminal shit taste?
