>max out a character's romance/friendship >they have nothing new to say anymore and become a husk of their former selfWhy do Game devs do this?

Nothing right now. Anything else, Commander?

To get around this feeling they should have multiple companion quests some of which happen after you romance them. It's not a perfect fix but should feel a lot better that way.
>>726121119Also give them lots of situational and sidequest dialogue. They should comment on caves and shit.
>>726120347Do what? Don't write infinite dialogs? You will run out of them sooner or later. Or you want devs to implement AI to make them infinite?
>>726121119>>726121183You could always have ChatGPT give them infinite dialogue heheheh
>I'd like to discuss something personal.>Why are you still here?
I miss you Chie
>>726120981>>726120665Why did they ruin her in 3?
>>726120347Yeah, it's something I was thinking these days, too. It's understandable though, there's only so much dialogue and interactions they can write and implement in the game. What I've seen some people doing is just giving the player some possibilities to interact with the character when you talk to them, stuff like:>*hug them*>*ask what you should do next*>*ask about their thoughts on this mission*>*ask what they're thinking about*>etc.I think it's alright, it gives some ways to keep interacting with the character even after their route is finished, and they can also comment on the current quest and stuff sometimes.picrel is a banter mod for BG1. I really wish the base game had interactions like this, it adds much more flavor to the characters.
