Are any of the new campaigns any good? So far I haven't been impressed with the writing are mission layout. They feel a bit overdecorated and the encounters are more random and punishing, less of the slow build adventure feeling of the classic campaigns

Dawn of the Dukes was peak AoE2, Mountain Royals and Lords of the West were good as well

Rest are a mixed bag, avoid Victors and Vanquished

My dad has over 20000 hours in this game. Still has his original AoE 1 disc for PC as well.
