My biggest recommendation would be to get the game on PC for mods, if you are interested. Those will amp up your experience tenfold versus vanilla- from extra characters with voicepacks and emotes, extra music albeit as replacements, better UI and renders and much more.Also same. Those screenshots are magnificent. My new playthrough is certainly justified once I set aside time for Origins, after Kirby Air Riders and Metroid Prime 4.

(Theoretically the PC version could be good with mods, but I could never get it to run on modern systems.)The only thing that could be considered subjectively "worse" about DC is its level select screen. The DC version features a realistic model of the island you're on, while the original N64/PC versions feature a surreal void that shows off key setpieces from each level as you run past them. The original version looks spectacular, while the Dreamcast version is more realistic/immersive. Look up "Isle of Doors vs. Hall of Doors" to see how they compare.

The best part: the dlc turns it into Sonic Adventure 3, with unique gimmicks and movesets between Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy. surprisingly enough, Amy was the most fun after Sonic just for her movement options alone. You could chain different moves together for big air and distance while platforming. I'd give it a shot as soon as you can. It's right up there with Shadow Gens for me. My only major complaint would be the traditional levels being optional, but they were still fun with great music.
