How's sailing training going my negros
>>
Feels a lot like the 2nd coming of EOC. Completely game breaking skill, killing what little charm OSRS still had.
>>
why is it a skill? its literally a minigame
>>
>>726342847
This shit is genuinely awful. It's so clunky. I thought getting a crewmate would make things easier but oh my fucking god this guy is useless as shit, the boat controls even worse with him at the helm, and when I don't use him he's in the way of my own clicks. Also bounty tasks have a 0% drop rate.
>>
sailing is the dungeoneering of osrs
>>
>>726342847
Did the people that play OSRS want sailing? I thought I read something about the developers forcing the vote so sailing won even though it wasn't wanted. I think they lowered the success threshold?

in what way at all.
You're just saying the equivalent of buzzwords.
>>
>>726346990
it went through multiple votes and passed each time.
anyone else saying otherwise is coping beyond cope.

>>726342847
I feel like they should have put more effort into making the new parts of the world more square. Every section of the world map as of 2007 was pretty fucking square, or at least rectangular with terrain set pieces just sticking off of them.
It's weird for them to have all these blobby clusters of islands just being stapled on, and it's weird that there's an entire other continent that clearly doesn't follow the same rules.

Delivery missions are the worst part of any game, and thats all the skill is for the first 30 levels.
>>
>>726349272
Idiot retard. They rigged it by first lowering the threshold and asking if players wanted a new skill without specifying what. Then after the dumb playerbase voted yes, they gave us a choice between three poorly thought out and uninspired ideas. This could have all been avoided if they didn't listen to reddit so much.

>>

the whole sailing poll was rigged psychologically 100% but the execution of it seems decent enough.

What's wrong with the people in /osg/, I asked a question earlier and got ignored, and they kept just not replying to each other it's really weird
>>
It's obvious to anyone with a brain they rigged it..
And that's fine.
Just don't do it if you hate it.

Just don't play the game if you HAVE to grind said Skill, but refuse to enjoy it.

>>726356370
To put it 1000% cynically, MMOs kind of either need to grow or die and sailing feels a bit half baked and just crudely sutured into the game but theoretically over a long enough time it will get better.
>>
>>726357308
I would have rather them reworked existing skills. Hunter rumors were lazy, and firemaking doesn't exist outside wintertodt.
>>
>>726356370
I prefer they put most of the new content on the new content continent rather than shoving it all into the old nostalgic zones.

the update happened and you can be salty if you want. But the devs that make runescape are human developers and they want to develop the game, that's why they kept the job. If they get an excuse to develop their game then they will absolutely develop their game. Imagine if you worked at game co. for 15 years and you finally got to break a 20 year long turning point and glue your name to it? No wonder they rigged the polls. On principle "old school" should have never gotten a new skill but it's basically the only good mmo out there and that's because the devs gave a shit.

Smithing rework could unfortunately never happen because it would tank the economy. But I think other skills could have been reworked with no issue.
>>
>>726345053
No idea, firemaking was a mistake. How do you like sailing though?
>>
>>726345519
I loved dungeoneering in RS2 and miss it so this is good news to me.
>>
>>726355623
It's not better now. I could absolutely see the Jagex of 2007 adding something like the original version to the game, but I think they'd make the Hosidius quadrant extend less to the south and further to the east, the Shayzien quadrant extend further south, with a tall, narrow inlet of ocean separating them instead of a straight line of terrain, and the mountains at the top would extend down to split the Lovakengi area from the Arceuus area, such that you could get a hint of them from the hub area in the middle. And that dead zone in the top left would be a little volcanic black sand beach in a shallow bay with a unique kind of fish you could catch that you could trade to one guy all the way on the other side of the map for slightly more gold than typical shopkeepers would buy it for.
>>
>>726357774
They have to fix smithing, it is 100% useless and I will never come back to OSRS until there is endgame progression that you can do with mining and smithing. Gear at least as good as Barrows should be craftable at this point.
>>
>>726358684
>>726358921
Reworking skills that date back to RS1 would probably be a terrible idea. People left RS3 because it was such a massive overhaul of core mechanics.

They'd rather add entirely new crafting skills. But they're never going to decouple the best tier of gear from specific locations, and they're not going to forsake benefit that tying end game content to easily tunable enemy loot tables provides them.

It's a lot harder to flood the economy with the highest end stuff if an account has to go through multiple quest lines and raise multiple skills just to get access. And that gets even harder when getting those things is soft rate-limited by more or less requiring you to use consumable resources in the process.

But, let's say they come up with a skill that lets you harvest "Unobtaninum" (Because of course they'd make it a joke about Americans spelling Aluminium differently.)

Let's say you need to brew and consume multiple different kinds of potions to survive in the area while you bounce back and forth between the big stupid semi-minigame chain of machines that generate the Unobtaininum.

And let's say you had a random chance of the last machine actually spitting out a resource, say 12.5% of Raw Unobtaininum, 12.5% of an ore like Adamant or Mithril, 25% chance of a junk resource you can trade for points that let you buy extra Unobtaininum at a bad exchange rate, and a collective 50% chance at miscellaneous inventory fillers like 2-3 stray gold or cabbages or whatever.

Oh, and the machines only recharge once every 90 seconds.

That would be a pretty comparable flow chart to grinding for enemy drops, when you get down to it, but everyone would hate it. It would feel tedious, because everything in Runescape, past a certain point, is tedious. Combat just hides it and turns it into a slot machine, and makes it feel like you're doing more than you really are.
>>
>>726360270
Basically all the OSRSoids who played RS3 for the first time in decades for that league tried new smithing and loved it

But instead we'd get forestry again if they ever update mining and smithing

You're not expected to craft all your own air runes. Runecrafting was added so players can make money crafting the expensive runes in bulk, because they used to be scarce and sold in limited quantities in shops. At least back when the skill was first introduced. That's not as true anymore, but it definitely did used to be.

It was absolutely also added for flavor reasons, too. Everyone was asking "Runes are consumable, right? Where do they keep coming from? How do the shopkeepers and enemies that drop them keep getting more?"

Smithing is worth doing in OSRS, just for fucked up reasons that have nothing to do with the act of turning metal into things you can use to hit monsters.

That's jank as hell and nonsensical, of course, but OSRS is defined by its jank, for better or worse. Besides, if people want to play RS3 they can just go play RS3, the membership is the same anyway.

Fucking insane that the community let them gaslight them into this shit.
Shamanism and Warding were the two most popular and were neck and neck but sailing won because it attracted the meme crowd....BUT THAT WAS JUST THE FIRST POLL OF TWO PROMISED VOTES.
They stated unequivocally that the top two would be voted on out of the three to avoid this exact issue. Then the next day they started acting like sailing won and ignored their statements on voting for the top two.

Shamanism would have beaten Sailing handedly but the DEI woke fucks at jagex were dead set on sailing because it's a bigger meme and that's all these twitter addicted fucks care about - memes. Not proper game balance.
By the time the new owners purged much of the insanity they had to stick with what they said otherwise it'd look even more ridiculous but shamanism always made 10x more sense.

people play OSRS to afk and see number go up whole making money. Not to fucking RAID. The fact we haven't gotten a new gathering skill or adjacent EVER proves these fucks have no clue what attracts players to the game. End game raiding is so far removed from what most people do on RuneScape it's insane.
Yet these retards still claim that bots aren't that bad because "without bots many items would run out on the grand exchange". THEY ACTUALLY SAID THAT.

Fuck jagex and fuck sailing. It's fucking awful and I haven't even seen one second of its gameplay post release. It's another fucking MINI GAME. dungeoneering rerelease would have been a better choice and I hated dungeoneering.

Not sure how people still don't get how it was rigged. Before the first pill they said they would poll the top two choices out of the three after the first vote.

Shamanism and Warding were neck and neck and overwhelming the two most popular and sailing was considered a total meme (it was a literal April fools joke in the past). People voted for sailing mostly as a joke and since the other two were neck and neck between like 65% of the community they finished with half of 65% and sailing got the lead at 35%.

Shouldn't be an issue right? JAGEX PROMISED A VOTE BETWEEN THE TOP TWO RESULTS.

But NOPE, they then proceeded to never do a vote of the top two ever and tried to gaslight the community into claiming they never said that which led to massive protests at Falador. They never went back and never listened to the community so for the last several years at least 30% of the community if not 50% has been complaining about sailing and jagex just calls them "haters".

They've been showing gameplay for years dude. You think we haven't known how shit it's going to be. One look at the official subreddit proves how hard it is, as it has been since they rigged the vote initially and as we've seen on every single gameplay video since it's inception.

>>726370284

>>
>>726370003
They voted as a joke because Jagex said multiple times that they would vote between top 2 results out of the three.
Then they immediately said sailing was the new skill forever and no further vote would be had between skills.

People acting like "sailing passed", to be clear they had to lower the threshold for normal polls to pass after several "preliminary" polls with stuff like "would you vote for sailing" failing to hit the necessary threshold.

They shoved this shit down our throats with numerous lies from the beginning and that's why every single video and comment section on sailing is like 40% haters. That's dramatically more than the average comment section hate for a game update. You may have like 10 - 15% haters but with sailing it's been nearly 50% hate on every open forum about it from the beginning, never changing because every clip they show of it makes it look AWFUL

It looks like a fairly shitty mini game when we could have had shamanism which is what the community overwhelmingly wanted and voted for. Sailing was voted for as a literal meme by players who didn't really care what skill won.
Do you know how many posts have been made saying "I'm sorry I voted for sailing , I didn't think that would be the only vote and I just thought it was funny".
HJNDREDS.
50 - 70% of players wanted anything else besides this dumb fucking mini game that Jagex doesn't have the literal talent to program properly in the first place.

All they had to do was make a skill that adds new items and gear and expand elemental weakness and stuff like that. Instead their really shitty programming team decided to go with one of the most complex ideas to implement since RuneScapes inception and it really shows. They're incapable of doing it well. That's the real issue.

They said it would have a vote between the top 2. Shamanism was like less than 5% less than sailing and it had a spoiler candidate unlike sailing. If they polled again, it would have been the third skill choice+Shamanism vs Sailing.
Shamanism would have won 70% to 30%. This was what people were expecting to happen the whole time and when they reneged the entire subreddit was in flames and protests erupted in Falador.

Are you some shills or some shit? This is all the basic understanding of the community. This is why sailing has been so extremely hated the entire time. You clearly weren't around for the vote

No matter how you slice it, not having a vote between the top 2 out of 3 makes no sense and destroyed a ton of trust and credibility the community had in jagex which it has yet to restore
>>
>>726370849
There are countless directions they can take gear in RuneScape such as the elemental resistances they've been adding.
The community has proposed dozens of amazing new gear ideas, it's not our fault Jagex is so stupid they just keep thinking all they can change is defense/attack stats.

honestly not really what killed RS3. EOC today is miles better then previous combat but it just took Jagex a decade post EOC to actually make it good.

If they polled shamanism vs sailing then shamanism would have won in a landslide. This is why they lied and said they would have a vote between the top 2 and didn't.
Why are you people acting like they didn't lie and like it's not blatantly obvious that they didn't do a top 2 poll because they knew the result would be Shamanism.
Whatever your opinion on the skills that doesn't change the fact Jagex refuses to do what they said they would do because they knew Shamanism would win in a Landslide.
If it would have been Sailing over shamanism then why were they afraid to do what they said they would and poll the top 2?

You know you can just admit that you're happy Jagex lied. You don't have to lie to yourselves about moral correctness. This is 4chan, no one will ban you for admitting you know Jagex lied but you're happy because you like Sailing. Honesty is fine here.
>>
There was a literal flood of apology posts on the subreddit saying sorry for voting Sailing because
"I never thought it would win and they wouldn't poll again!"

Sailing literally failed the first poll to implement it. It's been hated from the very beginning outside of those who liked it as a joke

I voted for Shamanism. I genuinely don't give a shit that sailing passed. I'm not cheering from the streets. The skill is what it is, not much I can do about that except play the game. I like the world expansion that sailing's provided and I'll do it as much as I need to do to do quests and raids and such. I was never gonna max anyways
>>
>>726371542
I think the promise of a second poll was on the assumption that all three would be a lot closer and another round would be necessary to figure out what the losing side preferred between the two winners.

But then it turned out the community wanted both Sailing and Shamanism, about equally, but Sailing was just a little more popular, so they implemented that first.
They're probably not going to hold another poll about it and we'll just get Shamanism at some point in the future.

Based and same. Sailing was my second choice but I have been pleasantly surprised. If the game starts to suck hard I'll fuck off but they did okay minus some bugs

I'm curious, would you actually be open to RS3 mining/smithing in OSRS?
A quick summary
Mining:
>Rocks no longer deplete - you click a rock and mine it infinitely
>While mining you get two bars: Stamina and Progress
>Stamina depletes with every swing and replenishes to 100% every time you click a rock and it has three thresholds, 100%, 99%-1% and 0%
>100% is basically for the super active fags but it's still an incremental improvement, 99% is the semi afk method where you just click every now and then and 0% is the super afk method
>Progress goes up per swing depending on "damage" which is influenced by your mining level, pickaxe, strength level(very incremental increase), "criticals" and there's also glowing rocks that give you 5x progress/exp drop for a single swing if you'd like to be more active.
>You get something called an Ore Box which stores 100+ ores of a certain type in your inventory just in case you really want to camp rocks.

Smithing:
>"Core metals"(Bronze->rune) expanded up to like level 80 defense and the smithing req has been normalized to it, added Orchalium(60), Necronium(70) and Bane?(80)
>Ores and bars go into something called a metal bank at the forges meaning you can withdraw and deposit raw material without ever leaving the forge.
>Forges split into a furnace for smelting the ores into bars and then a forge to melt the bars into an unfinished item to be smithed at an anvil
>Anvils are a slow process where every strike increases the progress and decreases heat, higher heat equals faster progress and that's the only speedup you can get in smithing. It's a super slow but super afk skill.
>Also the endgame melee armor(Masterwork) needs 99 smithing, and there are some endgame melee weapons(Masterwork 2h and spears, but the spears also need archaeology) and really drawn out production steps to craft. I think masterwork armor needs an hour per item.

I don't think the mandatory AFK shit is a great idea, but it probably wouldn't be terrible to rate limit the highest-end things you can make by forcing you to let your character "recharge" for that duration. Some people would still AFK and macro, but it opens up the opportunity to work on other skills between crafts, and I'm sure it would be a fun and rewarding process to figure out what's ideal to make, which other skills you should train, and where to do it, to maximize your efficiency.

This is so fucking true. Hundreds upon hundreds of hours on my original character and multiple summer vacations spent doing nothing but playing runescape 10 hours a day only resulted in a character that had like 80 combat level, 200k in the bank, and my biggest achievement was getting a zammy godbook. I don't understand, Anon. I DON'T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING ABOUT THE THINGS YOU CALL GOOD?!?!

What's so great about playing an MMO in single player mode? Isn't it more admirable to be playing with with other people and making friends? It's cooler when you have friends. That's worthy of respect. What's so respectable about self imposed loneliness?
And if you "stand alone" why do you use yell chat? Didn't you choose to avoid other players at all costs? It's disrespectful to rely on others when never giving anything back.
Why don't you want to trade other players? Are you afraid that your own efforts will not be worth to others what is is in your own head? Why are you so set on getting duplicate drops instead of trading? That's just fruitlessly wasting time for no gain.
If someone else does 1 point of damage to a monster, why does that invalidate your drop luck? Why must it be entirely within a vacuum to make an achievement?
And why do you NEED an icon to prove your gameplay? You don't NEED an icon to not trade or collect items yourself or never do a quest. Why is it so important to have those pixels?
What's so good about your mouse hand aching? "I love the feeling of making loads of barbarian mixes and maple longbow(u)s." Gaming is much better without carpal tunnel.
What's so great about Hardcore Ironman? Isn't it just extra suffering? That just makes you an idiot!
What's so good about about Ultimate Ironman? You were given use of the bank in addition to your inventory slots and not using them is just wasteful and ignorant. Unless it's some autism about the "globalist banking cartel." Why is it so great to denigrate the global financial system that makes your own comfy first world life possible? Do you think your life just fell out of the sky one day and you happenstanced into a veritable Garden of Eden?

Walking around the map is a huge waste of time but you choose to have to walk all the time, bank your gear, and wear spottier capes and boots of lightness 24/7. Isn't that terrible for not being able to show your gear or be prepared for random events? You don't gain anything from it.

Why do you only mention the helmies on the highscore list? Most players on the list with hundreds of KC are not ironmen. Players like Unrealhaze and Nthcobra have made youtube videos of themselves soloing PVM content just like Ironmen, but you only focus on the non-ironmen you don't like? And dying is not some thing exclusive to normal accounts. Do you think Ironmen never die or are inherently less likely to die? That's just ignorant and biased from your own perspective!

I DON'T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT YOU FEEL SO SUPERIOR ABOUT. YOU CAN'T RELATE TO NORMAL MMO PLAYERS AND IT'S NOT A BENEFIT!

See, I've done what I refer to as a "cost analysis" of the various RuneScape game modes. And it goes as follows.

Main - A main in the modern OSRS climate, is not only a "dogshit" game mode, but where the soul goes to die. You were never meant to buy bonds and skip the game. OSRS is pay to win now. This is your game.

UIM - This is actually the only mode I would consider to be worse than a main. It is ultimately a failed concept. Who would ever play RuneScape without a bank? Just because RSC initially launched with what we'll refer to as a "pseudo-bank," it doesn't mean OSRS needed to copy that. UIM is also where the soul goes to die.

GIM is just an Iron where you can play with others, so not really an Iron at all because you can trade, so it's basically just a worse main. Make it make sense.

Ironman - Ironman is essentially the only good game mode in modern OSRS due to it actually encouraging the individual to play the game. You have a bank too, and you can't use bonds to cheese the progression! It's a shame this is what it has come to. Being forced to play a singleplayer mode in an MMO, but here we are!

Dungoneering didn't deserve to be a whole ass skill but it was some of the most fun content of RS2 that was completely playable solo.
Pre-EoC Dungeoneering was literally the peak of Runescape and anyone who disagrees is a nostalgiafag.

Not osrs but when the fuck did bond prices in rs3 went over the 15 million!?
I was just checking rs recently to see what's going on in both and i notice how absolutely ass blasted the rs3 market is.
What the fuck happened? Osrs bonds are around 20mill, didn't the bonds work for both osrs and rs3 at the same time because mem was based on the account rather than the character? Or they changed that too?
>>
>>726402015
I don't think the game overall at that point was the peak of Runescape, but Dungeoneering was the most fun I've had playing Runescape. I would love for them to bring it back as an end-game activity like Raids rather than as a skill.

Runescape polling is so blatantly rigged it makes South America look like a shining bastion of democracy. But what do you expect from a game mostly played by nostalgiafag redditors?
Just like RS3's "poll" over removing treasure hunter. There was no option to vote "No" and the threshold was so stupendously low that there was no way in hell it wouldn't pass.
And it's JUST SO HAPPENED to coincidence with the EU about to pass new lootbox regulations.

It's for the best, I use it to keep up on stuff they don't blogpost but the amount of people crying since Sailing came out is insane.
Most of them crying that they missed out on XP like they were ever going to be the first to 99
>>
>>726405051
There are more of us then there are of them, we could make the general great again. Seriously it's only a handful of people that ruin the general every time
>>
>>726405530
The problem is, I'm sure this is part of the reason, is that I have an actual group of friends I play Runescape with and I'm sure the general naturally sifts towards people who don't have a friend group like that.
>>
Do you fags really hate Sailing that much? It's a bit weird looking and exp is kinda low but I'm having a pretty good time. Maybe it's because I'm a psycho that enjoys Agility
>>
>>726382369
I started playing runescape in classic, and I still hop into Lost City (2004 remake) now and then
Sailing is fun
I'd have preferred shamanism because I like weird magic stuff, but I'm ok with sailing
I'm happy taming failed because taming was summoning 2.0 and the only merits their team could make for it are "YOU CAN HAVE A GOODEST BOY WOW HAHA LOOK A HECKIN CUTE DOGGO"
I'm happy warding failed because warding was crafting 2.0 except the design space for making magic armor is narratively handled by a combination of crafting and runecrafting
>>
>>726405820
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't enjoying some aspects of it but I think it should've been a minigame. It feels half assed and lacking in direction and just doesn't mesh well with the rest of the game in its current state imo.
I've been hearing about Lost City a lot lately, is it worth trying for someone who never played RSC?

yeah that no-direct-replying thing they do is the most obnoxious shit ever
>>
>>726405639
>exp is kinda low
It's half of what it was in the beta and clearly lower than what they intended given the Daddy's Special Water was overlooked to give a reasonable award. It's insane that charting is all once-off exp but all tiny amounts that will be worthless when you can actually do the higher level charting.
>>
>>726406289
>Do you mind expanding on this?
Yeah I do
>>
>>726362263
There's like one chud working on OSRS that keeps adding stuff like this then it's removed as soon as someone notices it.
Zeah had an Enoch Powell reference when it was first added.
>>
>>726406134
>I'd be lying if I said I wasn't enjoying some aspects of it but I think it should've been a minigame.
I can see this argument, but at the same time if it was a minigame, this would be the entire thing forever. It being a skill means that it's at least going to get constant support for the rest of the game's life. Even some pretty underwhelming skills have at least gotten some fun/worthwhile stuff for them now but a shit minigame is much less likely to not become a shit minigame.
At least they're already buffing xp rates
>Lost City
It is pretty fucking dead. Cool if you want to experience an accurate 2004 version of the game, but the lack of content and knowing that this is all there ever will be means you'll only ever have a more and more dwindling playerbase.
I'd give it a go at least. It's free after all. Most of the people I know who did try it gave up on the game after a few days
>>
>>726407572
>It being a skill means that it's at least going to get constant support for the rest of the game's life

i think this is the first time ive read about the need for a blacksmithing overhaul here on /v/ and i agree.
my noob experience with osrs was mining and smithing because i wanted to have cool armor, but when i found out that you could sell feathers for an absurd price on the market, i gave up mining and blacksmithing, which took much longer, and instead killed chickens, which increased my skills to use armor and weapons, in addition to giving me feathers to sell for a ton of money, in the end i found out the real cool armor wasnt available for non members and i got demotivated

The funniest thing is that sailing is legitimately not quicker than normal teleport. I can only imagine early game benefitting from this aside from teleport to boat spamming which doesn't even make sense because if you can do that, you can teleport everywhere anyway
>>
>>726427896
Use the official launcher and account system (ignore the doomsayers that panic when the new account system goes down for a few hours per year) and use RuneLite once that's set up, it's an option in the launcher.
I soft recommend creating an Ironman but it's going to be confusing and slow. The drops will feel great. Or just stay normal account and have people feed you gear and items for being new.

Summoning is better

started in 2023, iron is the only account i play. the minute i learned about bonds and that BIS gear can literally be swiped for i made an iron and never looked back. 2150 total before sailing . iron as a new player is the best osrs experience you can get (obvs only if youre an autistic neet of course)
>>
>>726431992
You've gotta keep in mind that someone who'd ask /v/ how to start playing a video game probably doesn't have the problem solving skills that'd require someone to play through the game on an iron completely blind though
>>
We should have a OSRS bread more often
>>
>>726432534
it's comfy, especially because it doesn't get overrun by fanboy autism like WoW/FFXIV threads
>>

Thanks I'll try it with Blood and Saras once I get bored of sailing
>>
You know what the big problem with this skill is?
You can’t actually explore the islands until level fucking 40. That’s the selling point, exploring new lands. Why wouldn’t you space out a few shitter islands, even a new player could only access mainland locations before that, completely drains the feeling of exploration
>>
>>726432624
The /vg/ threads are also a dumpster fire of autists
>>
>>726432837
40 isn't really that big of a barrier to represent the difference between the jump in navigating shallower waters in smaller craft compared to open ocean if you consider it a skill, you gotta get good to go into the unknown.
>>
>>726432624
Its a completely different, but worse type of autism

I guess it depends where you're going, but I have been able to dock on 1 (uno) fucking island at lvl 49 having explored third of the map basically

instead of being ragebaited can ppl tell me if servers like 2006scape, 2009scape, and darkan are genuinely safe/worth playing?

are there any actual good servers? not 2004scape fuck that trash
>>

>ragebaited
They're safe bro
>>
>>726342847
Haven't tried it, and I doubt anybody here actually plays both. But is sailing similar to those Hawaiian Islands or whatever they were in RS3? You'd sail to an uncharted island and do activities there, I think. I remember having to leave, because I didn't have the stats for it.
>>
>>726433339
Shit just don't reuse a password on there and what is the worst that can happen?
>>
>>726433413
...are u baiting or???

cause like do you actually get how potentially kino it would be to go back and play the old versions of RS? RS was still good even through 2011. 2012 specifically was the downfall of everything.
>>
>>726431124
That's cool in theory except teleport to boat needs 75 sailing and 2 magic stones to build the greater teleport focus
>>
>>726354483
Keep doing them until you unlock the speed delivery minigame, it's good xp
>>
f2p in 2008 had rune gauntlets, druidic robes, combat robes, rune berserker shield, runecrafter robes, corrupt dragon equipment
why does modern jagex despise f2p so much?
>>
>>726433762
Two mil for two magic stones isn't too bad.
>>
>>726435104
osrs is an abomination. f2p rs3 still has all of that.

rs3 > osrs
>>
Creating hull parts is insane cons xp

I went from cudgel to whip to noxious halberd. It feels like going from a tricycle to a sports car. The problem is that there aren't mace, scimy, wh, 2h, daggers and spears equivalents to the halberd. I had different types of tricycles but I'm stuck with a mustang, why can't I get a corvette? A scythe would be a rocket-propelled car.

rs3 is...

umm...
>looks at lunar robes
hmm...

Sailing is fucking boring and pointless. You are levelling this dogshit just to fight two midlevel slayer monsters. Never forget that.

I'm about to dip into sailing for the first time. I know they had recommended some stuff for the start but how much of it do you really need?

Various planks, nails, a bit of gp. You can pretty much figure it out as you go along, the intro quest gets you started pretty seamlessly.

It was exploiting an overlooked setting. People with "public" as their friends setting had their cargo hold open to anyone. People made bots to world hop and try out close people's boats to steal whatever they would have in they Cargo Box.
>>
>>726435972
>You are levelling this dogshit just to fight two midlevel slayer monsters
No, I'm leveling to sell resources. Chopping the new trees makes bank and sick cons exp
>>
>>726389809
I fail to see how taming or shamanism would even have their own update that would be full on expansion worthy. Sailing expands the world, as well as involving multiple other skills, adding upon mining, smithing, fishing, cooking, hunter, woodcutting, crafting, thieving, construction, slayer, farming and herblore. Also we got new bosses, new gear, new amazing music by Artur Baryshev, new questlines, a fully working vehicle and it's fully coop friendly.
If Jagex had balls they would make a forced coop quest again involving the boats. But they'll cater to fucking losers and whiners like this sorry bunch who soil their 70 days old underwear because the map looks different near bodies of water where they go do their virtual 9 to 5.
>>
>>726437013
Not really lol. It's like what maybe a couple mil per hour?

Hunter QoLs, one which lets you double catch shit like chinchompas, using a resource from slayer monsters unlocked at 44 sailing. Bandages that heal bleeding, super ranging pot as a brew that also heals you, new food, a furnace that smelts cannonballs twice as fast, an amulet that lets you go underwater without the fishbowl helmet and diving backpack. Hemp seeds sell for more than ranarrs, and I expect multiple items to be stupidly expensive over a short time, take advantage of it if you're a main.

Duck charting sucks, mermaid riddles suck, uber deliveries suck if you aren't charting, so majority of the time vs charting is fine, crates are fine, spyglass is meh, first race was decent and plundering is afk. Haven't done it but second race looks bad and sea combat is appartently also bad. So far i'm slightly positive but I could see myself changing that opinion when grind hits. Fuck you for reading my blog. Sage and report.
>>
>>726433339
Problem with these servers is because of the small communities they have internal cliques usually compromised of a group of trannies at the core of it and the mod team will play favorites so if you disagree with them at all or don't want to interact with this part of the community you're screwed cause it's an MMO game based around multiplayer trade and quests. And usually the games aren't fully finished and are missing lots of content.
>>
all I did was the unlock quest where I skipped all dialoges. Currently busy making a huge profit making keel parts
