It’s over
>In its earnings call, the company said it has “evolved over the past twenty-five years from a gaming GPU company to now an AI data center infrastructure company.”
>Data center revenue hit a record $51 billion for the quarter. Nvidia reported a 66 percent increase from last year, driven by strong demand for AI infrastructure across cloud providers, enterprises, and model developers. The company said it continues to ship high volumes of its Blackwell and Rubin platforms.
>Nvidia noted that its data center business now accounts for the clear majority of its revenue and expects AI infrastructure build-outs to continue for multiple years. The company said its pipeline for cloud, enterprise, and sovereign AI projects remains strong heading into 2027.

Hopefully this shifts the focus on gameplay instead of pushing graphics. Devs won't be able to count on people having top of the line hardware. Innovate or die. The industry will survive, perhaps even better than before. Who knows, in 20 years we might all be playing on toasters-tier hardware again.

I hope the PS5 is the last generation of consoles, and PCs also stop improving.
I like playing games, I also like art, however things like high poly count and real-time raytracing don't contribute to the game or the art aspect.
As such there shouldn't be a reason to make new hardware.
>>
>>726391470
Yep expectation is that over the next decade every major company is going to be using AI in their development, software, art, customer service. ChatGPT needs GPUs and everyone is not going to rely on them for IP protection reasons so companies are going to be ramping out their own local systems with tons of GPUs. That's before even considering government and military applications of AI.
AI needs GPUs and AMD is unserious about it giving Nvidia basically a monopoly on the future. It's like being Microsoft when PCs became big but an even shorter time window. Probably one of the surest sure things in the last several decades.

Don't worry about it. The most important thing is to be aware. It can still be nice to just have one in case you veer out into for example photogrammetry or physics simulation, which can be a useful for a DYI'er/maker. AMD seems to keep engineer staff low to be agile, so if they keep doing that plus open source, they're probably going to be a decade behind, but you never know with all the jewing in the tech space.

The problem is that we are halfway in "technofeudalism" as they call it, so tech companies have very safe revenue streams coming in, so the creditors trust the companies. People are so incredibly far gone it's hard to see things turning around. You basically have to create societal change to change things around.

Forging AGI will in fact be the most momentous landmark in all of human history, but the funny thing is that LLMs are not going to end in AGI and no amount of chips for video generation is going to lead to AGI either.
It is inevitable and it is virtuous, and if you want to call it a cult, whatever. But these companies are nothing but false prophets even for that cult.

I'm doubtful it's mature enough of a technology to wipe out millions of jobs in the next few years though. Even driving which should be simple seems to have too many niche situations which require human intervention.

I'm also pretty confident that AI companies are bullshitting to the max about the capability of their AI.

AI is a marketing term for some shit running in circles to output data. It can't think, it can't decide, it can't even recognize patterns such as the emotional state from people because that only comes from experiencing life as we do. A machine will never be a baby, just a machine. A parrot is smarter than AI.

If you get asked what is 2+2 you don't make a conscious decision to figure that shit out by hand. You just know from past experience that it's a 100% chance to be 4, so you answer 4. LLMs do the same like of thinking but applied to literally everything.

Nvidia is the only company in this shitshow speculative slopbubble that actually sells a product, they sell shovels.
Problem is, their stock price is based on promises of future sales because AI and tech companies have placed orders for more GPUs and more scaling and more data centers and more garbage stretching years ahead, and they're full of debt up to their neck.
If those companies don't survive to make their sales, their speculative pumping would also deflate significantly. But at least they're selling something real and profitable and aren't indebted.

Even worse, they seem like they're wasting tonnes of money on paper.
Whats really happening is they're passing money back and forth between each other or investing in each other with imaginary money they intend to pay off later or whatever.

They're basically inflating the shit out of their own stock prices with circular investing
Nvidia promises to "invest" into an AI company for 10 gorillion dollars, but its actually just "10 gorillion dollars worth of GPUs" and the AI company paid for it with 10 gorillion dollars worth of AI tokens or some shit.

Not only is it a bubble, its a fake bubble propped up with imaginary earnings and fake money that never existed. The american economy is being completely propped up by a heavily subsidized shell game where these companies just keep shuffling the same imaginary money around in circles, except investors lack object permanence so they can keep lifting the shells and showing off the same money, but people think its new money every single time.

It's so weird because no one but NVIDIA and TSMC (and I guess energy companies) is actually making money from AI.

We're in a bizarro situation where the entire corporate world is betting so hard on AI reinventing the corporate landscape in a way that boosts profits that they're going all in before it's even close to turning a profit, or even properly implemented as a technology. The shit is going to hit the collective fan when everyone realizes just how much resources these datacenters are going to swallow up. If this bubble happens to sustain itself long enough (very doubtful, you're already seeing cracks) you're going to see the most hilarious pivot back toward wind, solar, and nuclear power the world has ever seen.

For the average person the most impact you're going to see from the implementation of AI in the corporate infrastructure is higher energy and water bills. Also if you're a wagie you might lose your job. But at least the profit margins will be high.

>Generating 30 seconds of video with WAN 2.2 on an RTX 5090 will take several minutes, likely between 5 and 10 minutes or more, depending on the settings, frame count, and resolution
pffff, so you wait there for 10 minutes jerking off to the thought of your AI generated 30 second clip that comes out and its a woman turning into an inflatable balloon and so you have to restart the process all while paying out the nose for electricity. Sounds like a satisfying creative experience.

this shit is gatcha for coomers until the generative time comes down to a few seconds for video and instant for images.

Add on top of this that you have to pay 2-4k for the privilege of beta testing this shitty tech and you might as well just subscribe to some cloud computing service.

>if you were rich you wouldn't be so bitter.
You don't even need to be smart to see that's not true. Rich people are as unhappy as anyone else.

why are the arguments on 4chan so obsessed with twitter artists? is it because every AI enthusiast is a failed artist who was seething at porn patreons their whole life?

There are so many other angles and other people who hate AI for a billion different reasons

the tl;dr is that he was heading the counrry in a highly prosperous direction and was very popular, but then was suddenly overthrown by a clique of republicans because muh democracy, thought and well the rest is history, brazil is a shithole now

>AI enthusiast is a failed artist who was seething at porn patreons their whole life?
no, they're the fags who see it as a weapon to hurt artists.
All this crying and discourse? This is truly what they want
>>
>>726412653
I've never posted to twitter in my life, meanwhile every AI slopper is obsessed with them and every argument ends up with them gloating about how much they or some other retard is making on patreon.
>>
>>726412329
>You don't even need to be smart to see that's not true. Rich people are as unhappy as anyone else.
That's the point, their lives are just as shitty as everyone else's in some cases even worse so you have no reason to be jealous of them.
>>
>>726412451
4channers don't have jobs so they don't have to worry about AI obsoleting them
what else should they be concerned about?
>>
>>726412829

>>
>>726412786
