Sony has been on a run of killing even it's good single player games with sloppey sequels. Every single one of them more or less copy pastes the gameplay of its predicessor with maybe a couple of very small, but fun tweaks to the overall formula. The problem being, despite being very polished game play, it started to wear thin by the end of the 1st game, and the few good changes in the followup aren't really enough to keep it for an entire full game after having already done it once. Then they just absolutely shit the bed on the story side, so the other part that should keep you going just sucks. Happened with Dad of War, Uncharted, Spiderman, Last of Us, and Ghost of Sushi. The only exceptions I can think of were R&C, which I didn't much care for, and Astrobot, which is the only game to fully use the cool features in the controller and will never be considered for porting because of it. At this point all I'd want ported are PS4 era stuff and prior, especially if it had an online component that could be resparked, like Little Big Planet.

Sony announced they were going to try and take on Nintendo in Japan. Ceasing to make thirr games multi-platform is the first step. Nintendo doing the exact opposite of them and being twice as successful while Xbox doesn't even properly compete with them has probably been a massive wake up call. Its not about having the best hardware its about the games, thats why Nintendo can up thier prices and thier fans just suck it up and pay anyway because they want to to play the new Mario kart, the new donkey donkey kong, the next fire emblem, etc... and like it or not they need a switch 2 to play them.Right now the Playstation division of Sony is probably praying to god that Nintendo doesn't become greedy enough to decide to compete with them and drop a switch 2 home edition that can run BF6 and GTA6 killing the brand forever
