It's an amazing game. I played it til 2:30 then woke up at 6:00 to play more, but I'd trade Cappy or Scarfy for Adeleine or the Fairy Queen.

I liked the default attackers in city trial because anything that helps me shread boxes early in the game streamlines breaking them open. I'm still trying to beat up unused air rides in hopes to get them to drop valuables. I do feel what was said about it screwing up copy ability capping, that takes more precise timing, but for me only so many abilities (Sword, mic, situational bomb spark or cutter) are actually that much more valuable to me. Granted I still haven't gotten on board with needle auto attacking. But the passive and "not needing to brake" nature of the default attacks do help give me a boost or break things open.

I love that the game has more depth than the original, it’s way more polished and fun to play, but I agree with some anons here, city trial is missing at least a second map, and I can’t explain it but I just can’t play any combination of modes for more than an hour, and with no friends who play online, it’s kind of lame. My irl friends are excited I bought it though so hopefully couch coop this weekend puts the excitement back into me.

The game is really good but if I were to hope for updates because the game does really well and Nintendo asks sakurai to keep the game going, I would pick:>A casual and competitive queue for all lobbies that shunts anyone waiting for a queue into a room that's available. Anyone that joins a specific online match would then effectively be creating a room that anyone could get pulled into (and prevent top ride from completely dying online at some point).>A quick version of roadtrip that lasts about three to four stages (it isn't a very replayable mode just due to the sheer size of it).>A top down arena mode for top ride (basically just pvp and the different rulesets you could make for that). They would just need to take the current assets for stages and slam them into different configurations for 9 different battle maps. They could even just ape the 3D challenges on a 2D map like press the buttons and collect food, and add stuff like capture the flag.>Various more events and rules that get you to play in different ways for each modeFor a game that isn't planned to get any updates, it seems really easily expandable just by the nature of the game design and how they've implemented things.
