I miss Alyx I can’t wait to see her again. Could care less about any gameplay “innovation” that everyone feels Is absolutely necessary in a half life game. More than anything I just want closure…I want a good story. And it bothers me that likely won’t be the case, as Valve will be obsessed with delivering some cutting edge technological advancement, and the story will ultimately suffer as it did in HLA (like really…time travel to retcon a 16 year old cliffhanger?) More than anything I just hope there is a romantic climax between Gordon and Alyx, as it is their adorable relationship that drives the story and subsequently player immersion and engagement.With that being said….Alyx’s design in HL3 is going to be hugely important…I hope they stay true to her HL2 era design and don’t go overboard with trying to change her and do something radically different or “unique”

>>726721736>I BELIE/V/Ei think it's safe to assume there's always a new half-life game in development. the question for me is, is there anything innovative enough about the new hardware that half-life 3, of all games, is finally going to come out alongside them? the hlx leaks seem to suggest it's just going to be physics and destruction again, like half-life 2. i guess you could argue that this entire hardware launch is actually just them retracing their steps from 10 years ago. so maybe a new game that's more iterative than innovative wouldnt feel out of place. but half-life isn't the franchise they use for that. i'd be more inclined to believe in a new portal or a new left 4 dead or something to be honest.
