Where do you like your I/O buttons for your PC?
I want to build new PC and been looking for new cases
many of newer cases seem to love to put buttons on the bottom of the case
>>
>>726724345
>bottom of the case
I was going to say that I don't really have a preference but what the fuck? Is that for people who put their PC on the table like it's some kind of artpiece?
>>
>>726724345
Top of the front panel preferably the right corner
>>
>>726725147
>Is that for people who put their PC on the table like it's some kind of artpiece?
Yes.
>PC below desk - I/O on top
>PC on desk - I/O on bottom
The latter is more popular with zoomers for some reason
>>
What kind of a normies turns their computer off ever? I have years of uptime usually
>>
I kinda regret case with io button top cause my cat keeps stepping on it and turning pc off.
>>
>>726725150
This. Least likely to be obstructed. Some cases put buttons and I/O on top of the case and that only makes sense if the case is on/near the floor.
>>
>>726725249
>zoomers
learn to talk like a human being

that aside, it's not just because PCs have gotten more fancy and decorated with all the lights and shit so it's a centerpiece now, it's also because people use more generic desks instead of specialized PC desks that have a compartment for everything including the PC itself
>>
>>726724345
I got the airflow 4000d mainly because it has buttons at the top
>>726725147
yes, retards think that your computerbox taking up valuable space on your desk is a good thing because of less dust or something, like cleaning it doesn't exist
>>
>>726725284
Had the same problem but you can turn off the turning off via power button
>>
>>726725276
I don't like to see the blinking lights when I'm not using the machine
>>
I have nr200p and it is ok for what it is
>>
>>726725369
>learn to talk like a human being
Says this but doesn't capitalize or use periods

>kinda want Li Lian 217 cause it looks cool
>I/O is like in the worst spot possible for me (button left side of the case)
>at least it has top extra power botton
>they shit out new 217 Infinity
>with option to move I/O panel to the top of the case
>but it look like stereo speaker RGB puke
>>
>>726725369
Zoom zoom malding
>>
>>726725147
unironically yes
because manufacture always look at some content creators for user inputs
and all these people will put their PC on the table cause thats what they are talking about in their video
some of them probably bitch about button being too high cause these hardware youtubers are bunch of 5'6" manlets
>>
>>726725369
>>zoomers
>learn to talk like a human being
Huh?
Would you prefer if I said "it's more popular with the under 30's" or something?
I don't see why this matters.
>>
At the top, ideally flat. My current case has them at an angle like that, it's not the worst thing but occasionally a USB cable can be awkward to plug in because there's a desk right in front of it.

Can't imagine putting the buttons at the bottom, you'd have to be a fucking retard to keep your PC on the desk instead of on the floor where it belongs.
>>
>>726725526
The ironing.
>>
top front is ideal. i don't like how often buttons and sockets are on the top now because every damn case needs a streamlined front since they don't bother with any drive bays anymore
>>
>>726725412
Would that only affect it when its in windows?
>>
>>726725713
idk how that's unreasonable, if you're using memespeak commonly used by underages you're not much better than them, just because a word means the same thing doesn't mean it doesn't make you sound like a full blown idiot
saying "i'm serious" and "shiiii nigga fr fr no cap" mean the same thing but one makes me sound like a person and one makes me sound like a basketball american
>>
>>726725982
"zoomer" is not memespeak.
>>
>>726725982
You sound like a fag and your shit is retarded. Go do a flip off a bridge, zoom-zoom.
>>
>>726725946
Well you should get it working on Linux as well since it's Linux
>>
>>726724345
on top every time, unless it's a HTPC.
>put PC on desk
>get blasted by LEDs
>have to hear the constant *whirrrrrrr* up close
>lose tons of desk space
what's the fucking point
>>
i dont really understand people who put PC on their desk
like why?
>>
>>726726515
i put my pc on the desk because its easier to work on when i want to up/sidegrade, it is also easier to swap cables out if i need to (i have a friend who brings his projector along for movie nights, and reaching down/around the case on the floor gets tiresome)
for this reason, i'd prefer if my front panel I/Os were at the bottom of the case, but unfortunately theyre at the top, which means cables dangle down in front of my optical and tape drive bays, which gets annoying
(yes, i also use physical media, get over it)
>>
>>726725284
tape a gatorade bottlecap over it, just one side, so you can flip it open like you're slapping the eject button on a fighter jet
>>
>>726725276

People who want their machine to last.
>>
>>726728043
unless your PC is overheating on idle you are causing higher wear by power cycling it all the time (which doesn't do any meaningful wear either)
>>
>>726728434
at idle.
FUCKING ESLs can you please stop making this basic mistake? On, In, At. You constantly fuck it up.

>built very first PC this year
>last tower PC I had was during my teens, would go below the desk as with every other PC back then
>charmed by fish tank cases because I'm a fan of seeing the interiors of your machine, like how the GameBoy and N64 used to be

I have pic related with LED top and bottom fans and RAM set on a solid color, sitting on my desk so the power button is half an arm length of reach and the 3.5mm audio jack is as close as it can be from me. Main cons are that it's a bit bulky since it has a back chamber for the PSU, cables and extra drives, but it makes the front look very clean, and the bottom fans can only be 140mm ones, so you would have to spend a bit extra, but I can recommend you Thermalright since those are very cheap and easily available.
>>
>>726728546
sorry
>>
>>726728662
Sorry for going off at you, it's just annoying and constant.
>>
I've got my PC on a small wooden platform I made to keep it off the carpet under my desk so top I/O is useful.
>>
i refuse to own a case with fewer than 4 usb on top because of how many stupid "wireless" devices that exist that need to be constantly recharged.
i've got 3 cables perpetually sitting on top of the case plugged in
>>
My PC was IO on top AND a fucking glass side panel.

those always require supplemental power, overheat, break, ports wiggle and disconnect, and you just have some ugly device sitting around all the time
also that stupid ass 5v cable cannot possibly be that short, it won't reach a wall. these things are for craptops not desktops.

i can hide my fucking cables when i don't need them i just don't want to

I really like everything about the new frame 4000
outside of the button placement
for a case that is shill to death about le modularity
why cant you fucking move the I/O location?

nta but what the fuck are you even doing. I just use my case ports to for shit like bluetooth or 2.4ghz dongles for my mouse and keyboard. Get something like pic related and you can literally forget about cables and even get fast charging which is essential if you have a power bank.

I have like 12 USB ports on my motherboard but only like two I really use for recharging and one of them is just for when I need my phone next to me.

Can I interest you in a blanket this chirstmas?
>>
>>726724345
I like it up the ass.
>>
>>726731827
that's not even a powerbank lmao, literally just a usb charger that you plug into a normal outlet. btw your ports are going to die one day so keep on abusing it until it happens faster.
>>
>>726725373
4000D is great except for the anemic front IO. Looks like the new version's a bit better.
>>
>>726725150
Correct
