It may be due to the extra party member but from my experience, DQ2 HD-2D is easiest version of DQ2
Ironically enough, DQ1 HD-2D was for me, the hardest version of DQ1

Yep, it's fantastic. It's not perfect, stuff like the boss right before the boat dealing a retarded amount of damage, and all of the tools to deal with it being just out of reach, and there are a few too many cutscenes where the party "bonds" but nothing interesting happens, but just about everything else is really great. If you decide to give II a shot again the remake is the way to go. Also, there's a translation for X offline if you're interested but don't want to jump through Japanese hoops for the online version, the emulated Switch version is pretty easy to set up.

He's actually buffed and pretty good, Kazap is great, but amusingly enough the other 2 are buffed even more so he still falls behind in the endgame where Midenhall's tard strength is compounded by access to physical skills and Moonbrooke can act twice per turn (And has the MP pool to utilize it). He could have made a good support but his sister ended up getting a lot of the better support moves lmao.
