The script is only a third of the problems with the game.The other two problems are its level design and common enemy gauntlets and quest design/world progression.Basically they took the design principles from A Realm Reborn and made them religion, when the reality is the case for that XIV expansion back then was development time.So you have a really good combat system, a melodramatic story that isn't very clever (why would magic users be slaves?) and quests that play like a 2010 MMO patch.It's all very strange because that initial XVI 2 hour demo was a 9/10 experience, while the entire game was a 7.1/10.
