this game any good?
>>726782817>definitive editionNot that shitty Switch port, no.
It's kino and the switch version is the best version

only 3 jrpgs released in the last 10 years and this is one of them
>>726782817it is fun but there's some repetition after a while which makes this game a slog.pretty visuals and although repetitive, the soundtrack is great. mainly the overworld theme.the story drags itself a bit as well but every act has good bits so you don't really get bored with the game.
>>726782817If you know Japanese.
>>726783020>>726782817It's a completely fine JRPG, nothing super groundbreaking, but really, only the pacing notably falters in the last chapter due to how it works without spoiling anything. If you're into turn-based games like these, $20 on the current Steam sale is pretty solid. Plus the Definitive Edition has the 2D mode that turns it into a low-budget SNES game, so kind of a silly replay value deal in that sense.Definitive Edition is the way to go if you want a lot of extra content and quality of life, plus the option for orchestrated soundtrack or the original synthesized stuff. You can get it on every platform, PC obviously has mods even if not a super huge amount. The original release looked markedly better for lighting, asset quality and shaders, but it had to get downgraded to run on the Switch for DE, and then that version got reported to everything else with the downgrades intact; you can't really BUY that version anymore digitally, though, so no use throwing a fit when mods restore most things besides the lighting.

I would say the story will feel a tad long at a point but when you beat it, you will feel the journey was great. If you get tired of the game, just take a break and come back later. Also, the cast is damn memorable.
