VC is the best one because despite being born in 2001 it really gives me nostalgia for the 80's that I feel in my soul. Only major issue I have is why they included some crap breakbeats station - breakbeat sounds nothing like that so the sound guys at rockstar really fucked that up.

i don't actually think you were ever meant to seriously tackle the story in the gta games. they were more like scenarios that you can participate in if you ever get bored of the real game which is causing mayhem in the open world, if that kinda makes sense. at least it does for me.

VC in comparison is a parody of gta3. There is some crime, but mostly it's full of weird gimmick missions and homages to crime movies as apposed to being a game about crime.

Yeah, we are talking about the same version. It seems that the raindrop effect is embedded on the mod's source code and cant be removed without touching the code. If only Rockstar didnt kill that RE project, we would have had the actual definitive GTA3/VC versions

You can gently ride your car on his back to stop him. It won't kill him and the game has a fail safe that will respawn him near the car after some time. Enough to clean up.

There are a couple glitches to get to staunton island (most well known is jumping across to the broken bridge right from the very start) and all the boats/planes spawn from the word go EXCEPT the boats in portland. The safe houses are always unlocked so once you get to staunton you can save, grab a boat, beach it, push it on land to get past the little barrier in the water and then hop back in a motor over to shoreside. from there you can save, head to the airport, jump in the dodo and fly to your hearts content.
