Memes should never be inserted into games unless you know they won't go stale and they're contextually appropriate. Like, feel free to have an all your base or barrel roll joke or something, but do not under any circumstances stick in memes that aren't even a year old, because chances are they won't age well and will be antiquated by the time your game releases.Referencing 4chan in a stealthy manner is a different matter, feel free if you think the average normalfag won't detect it. Or just stick it in the "special thanks" section of the credits if you have balls.
The idea is to include as many relevant memes and references in the current day as you can, along with as many crossovers as possible to maximize your zoomer bux. Who cares what people think of your game within ten, five, or even a year? The idea is to make immediate bank or fuck off and drop it if it doesn't immediately succeed with the youth of today.
