The Alita game is pretty great since it had the author's involvement in the story, being based on an arc cut from the manga. It laid the groundwork for games like Devil May Cry but the game gets repetitive due to its level design.
Personally I liked Rising Zan because it had SOVL but I get hating it due to its glitches and alien control scheme that you can't remap.

Is Battle Angel Alita actually good? All I know is James Cameron loves it which sounds more like a bad thing.

The original OVA looks awesome but it's extremely shallow
The manga on the other hand is pretty great with rich work-building but it does get pretentious at times
