When you jump you're prepared to brace for it, if you fall then you aren't, you've slipped or whatever. It's better than adding a "roll at the right time to lessen fall damage" mechanic, probably.

When the game thinks you're holding an item in your temporary slot but you can't drop it. It makes picking up items impossible if your other three slots are occupied. It's worse than the cooked items bug since that can be fixed by knocking yourself out, while the temp slot bug requires a suicide or Advanced Console.
