It is a weird tonal clash how official WotC artwork tries to go for as harmless and friendly fantasy vibe as possible, while all the popular D&D settings and works go for darker fantasy and violence. I know plenty of left leaning roleplayers, but none of even them has ever played D&D in the Cozy Fantasy Seattle way that WotC is trying to force the direction of the IP to be.

Also they are not ideal for any undertakings that require subterfuge.But those downsides and challenges are probably just mostly ignored since enforcing them is in the end up to the DM.
