Meaning the only art that has ever mattered since the beginning offucking time is something you can participate in.

Games cannot be art because they are, by virtue, interactive. Art is an expression by the creator, but games depends on player input, so by default, it cannot be art. Instead, it is an experience.

People look at 'art' in video games at a very base level. They see pretty graphics or art style, or a story they like and they call it art. Real video game art is gameplay systems, the way the player interacts with the world in their own way. That's where the true art of video games is, where no other medium can match it.

Didnt read.The main issue with movies occurs when they try to emulate literature. Kubrick is good example of a director that understood that movies are not books nor should they try to be.
