They're both fun games in their own right, if you don't have friends for the love of god please just stick with Don't Starve, don't try to play Together singleplayer, you can, but the content just isn't suited for it. I play Together once every year or two with a group of friends and we've enjoyed it everytime, don't fear death and don't be afraid to experiment. If there's anything I hate about this game it's the addition of skins absolutely shitting on the original art direction of the game.

I remember playing it on release nearly 12 years ago and getting filtered hard. Kept getting filtered over the years due to the abundance of random shit I've never seen always fucking me over but I still had fun. Wish I had friends to play Together with though.
