>act like a sore loser in any competitive environment>can't help it so I avoid competitive games or contests>Always have a feeling like there's nothing I could have done because I can't control what my teammates or enemies could have done>always see people writing gg or nt and genuinely being friendly even if its a mask>can't ever see myself doing the same because I'm always giving it my all but it doesn't matter that I did>tend to write kys or bullshit after any loss because it was out of my controlHow do you turn your attitude around when it comes to a competitive game? Especially when you deal with randoms?
>>728521451What specific game(s) are we talking about here, OP?
>>728521697Anything competitive. I've tried every competitive game on the market thats popular enough, but its the same shit. Any game with PVP basically, except for extraction shooters because that whole genre is aids. Anything from Overwatch to SF6 to digital TCG it doesn't matter.
>>728521451pvp is for the mentally illOnly play co-op vs ai games, or singleplayer games
>>728521815> OverwatchTeam based game. If you're not at the highest level, accept that you're basically gambling. You can get better at gambling, yes, but that's what it is.> SF6I generally avoid most fighting games because of the amount of time you need to sink in order to be able to execute at a top level. Even then, you have to have encyclopedic knowledge of the game. Once you have both of those, then you get to play chess in real time with other players.> digital TCGThese are more approachable if you're not actually buying the cards. The main thing you need is just pure game knowledge and strategy/psychology.If you want to get better, find a high level player that actually explains what they're doing, and more importantly, why they're doing it. Then, copy them and figure out what works. For me and League of Legends, that used to be foggedftw2I too am a sore loser. I don't play games and work hard just to lose. I don't care what people say; sportsmanship is basically cuckoldry. When it comes to attitude, either switch to a game that isn't a zero sum game, or just get so good that losses start teaching you things. You might be getting upset because you feel like you're not getting anything out of your experience. Lmk if you have questions
>>728521451Act like you've been there before. Sore losers are little faggots that can't grow. No one likes a sore winner either.
>>728522343>Sportsmanship is cuckoldryYou have never been and will never be a winner. If you lose its your fault you didn't prepare enough. Blame yourself bitch.
I call my opponent's niggers and faggots and then say good game, I got outplayed.
>>728522343I just don't understand how to keep a positive attitude when it comes to losing. I see sore winners alot in these types because they tend to write Ez or something at the end of a win. But I don't know how people can write gg right after a quick curbstomp. It definitely wasn't a good game regardless of the outcome due to how inbalanced it was
>>728522464> autistic frothing> no games mentioned> pic related
>>728522881Accepted.
>>728522827Well you certainly don't have to pretend to be positive. Joy is supposed to come fairly easy, and if it's not, then you want to do some investigating and find out why. You might find that you dislike the failure of the matchmaking system, or you might take issue with game balance, or you might discover that you don't actually agree with the game's design philosophy at all.If you must, then yeah take a break. Or, if you're determined to get good and win, like I said, find a top level player that you trust and learn from them.As for sore winners/BM, you might consider turning off all chat. It's nothing personal, they're mostly out to feed their inner chimpanzee that craves domination in whatever way they can get it
>>728521451Did your team know how hard you are working? Sounds like you are trying too hard to the point of not even trying.
>>728522464See I don't understand this attitude of blaming one individual for a teams loss. It's like instinctual. Like if you're doing your job well and you still lose, there's nothing you could have done differently. I can agree that pointing fingers at another is seen as hostile. But turning around and pointing back the one who played well just seems like a coping mechanism. Especially when said teammate had the best turnout despite the loss.
>>728522343 Based take. Honestly, most people crying about "sportsmanship" would snap like a dry twig if they lost in front of an actual crowd. You get good so that you're above the coinflip-so good that even if your team is rolling dice in Overwatch or your opponent plays unga bunga in SF6, you still drag it across the finish line. When you finally reach that level, the salt turns into clarity. You start recognizing what *actually* cost you the match, and suddenly “gg” isn't cope-it’s closure. You’re not congratulating the opponent, you're acknowledging the inevitability of that round, and now you're loading into the next one sharper. Also, co-sign on watching high-level explainers. For fighting games, the Juicebox streams are unironically legit. Dude breaks down neutral and decision trees like he’s teaching a class.
>>728522343>I too am a sore loser >Sportsmanship is cuckoldrylolWhat a bitch.
>>728524398If you want more immediate comfort, see pic related. I do hope you feel better, OP.
>>728524380The stats usually speak for themselves without saying a word. But I know if say you were playing Marvel Rivals as a healer and the tank kept trying to dive into a 1v6 solo and you can't outheal that damage. You get top healing, but you get blamed for not keeping people alive, even if the situation was out of your control and you did everything you could. Doesn't feel good to play regardless.
>>728524774I see I'm never getting an answer and just getting a dismissal again.
>>728524405This. The pros have such a love of the game that the time they spend sweating their ass off is a net positive for them, and if you really boil it down, most players just aren't like that.>>728525265Then it all depends on how long you're willing to sit in queue for the tank that doesn't dive in 1v6 like a retard. Eventually, you will find one, and if you win that game, then the matchmaker should start to notice. Even if you do climb the ranked ladder, you never truly escape the bullshit. You just trade one monkey's paw proposition for another. The key is finding whatever bullshit you are willing to tolerate.
>>728522343Do you think sportsmanship as a culture is forced the same way the bible forces people to be morally good or face the threat of hell?
>>728525706I think sportsmanship is a type of necessary social glue that keeps competition from becoming so savage and hostile that the entire thing collapses. I don't think it's forced per se, it's ubiquitous now. But there's still the realization that lies underneath: no matter how much you dress these things up as "just a game", your worth is still being tested in one way or another.Even the biggest winners understand that if losers don't get anything out of their experience, people stop showing up to participate in their little empire.
play 1 on 1 pvp and experience ego death, you will either become even more of a sore loser or you realise nothing matters and they're just trying to have fun, same as you
>>728521451>>728522827>>728524398Who is this? She cute
>>728521451In team games, you have to accept that some losses are beyond your control. Dwelling on that is pointless. Always look at your own performance alone.>>728522464>Like if you're doing your job well and you still lose, there's nothing you could have done differently.Unless you played perfectly (you didn't), there's more you could have done. Would playing just a little better have changed the outcome in one particular game? Who knows? Maybe, maybe not. But, if you play just a little better across a lot of games, it will add up. You'll win more. You have to take the long view. And as you improve, you'll start to find more and more things you actually could do differently, more ways to optimize your play. In a team game, these improvements aren't always mechanical; learning how to effectively communicate and take charge when necessary is essential.Once you're good enough, you can even start to win those games you used to think were lost causes. Have you ever seen a pro player dropped into a match with a bunch of average players? He'll mercilessly grasp every advantage, never giving an opportunity to the enemy―and when he does, it will be illusory, a bait. He'll direct his teammates to objectives at opportune moments while mechanically crushing his immediate opponents. If you can channel that guy just a little bit, sometimes you can win those seemingly impossible games. The 'blame yourself' advice is good because it forces you toward perfection. Think about it. Whatever game you play, if the number 1 player had been in your spot, could he have carried your team? Probably. And that means you could have carried your team if you were better. In that sense, it really is your fault. Strive to improve until you can carry those teams. Don't worry how bad your teammates are or who was the biggest cause of a loss. That doesn't help you improve. Blame yourself, not unto despair, but in order to push forward.
>>728525313It's advice. Take it or leave it
>rip off invader zim wholesale>somehow don't get criticized for itWhen did people stop having standards
>>728521451A victory I'm not MVP for is nothing. A defeat I'm MVP, despite, is vindicating enough to feel like a good win. I only get upset when I personally do poorly. I will never flame NlGGERLlCKER69 for feeding, because my ideal is being good enough to make his participation unnecessary to begin with. Similarly I will never flame the enemy unless they played like absolute faggots, but even still it will be in jest, because really I should've just done better. If you are the only non-retard on your team of down-syndromed troglodytes, it's your responsibility to uplift and drag them to victory as the only who can, even if it's impossible to. If I tryhard but still lose, my understanding of the situation is that I should've tried even harder, so I'm in no position to shit on anyone. Perhaps it's worth mentioning that I don't bother with rankedslop anymore, but my mindset remains the same. If I fail to carry, but am not why we lost, it feels like I've gotten away with some cheeky laziness while on the job. So I'm chill.Ultimately it's just a game anyway, and I have more important things to be emotionally invested in.

>>728526883It's some oc from a youtube horror channel named I can't sleep.
>>728526575I'm sure eatsports players know that. But the average adderall kid doesnt gaf and just gets off to gloating and putting down the losers. I think the main issue is modern multiplayer pvp just rewards the winners with more winning. For example, Kill streaks in CoD reward someone who's doing good, with more free good. Overwatch/Marvel rivals has ults that keep your winning momentum solidified and unbreakable. With those feedback systems in place, it stops the losing team from ever making a comeback without some underlying coordination, which doesnt happen in pubs often enough. Many fighting games since at least SF4 had comeback mechanics that gave the one getting beating a chance to make a comeback. I'm surprised shooters are still copying what CoD laid down 18 years prior with just letting matches stay one sided due to abilities being powered by winning.
