Talk about the game and things you like and things that happened

I got the game after the awards because im lame and cant stand not playing whats regarded as the best game of the year. Turned out its really good believeit or not. Love the music, story is nice. The combat is wild and i dont think theres ever been parrys as satisfying as in this game. They're obnoxiously explosive and satisfying.
Well see how much i like it going on.

>15 hours in and just realized what lumina points were for
>was playing the game with just the three pictos only

It's a good game,I personally wouldn't think of it as GOTY worthy, but this is what happens when you feed an industry for 10 years nothing but worthless garbage with a few games breaking up the monotony of it. COE33 worst part is ACT III do get ready for that.
>>
This game fucking sucks.

>>
>>728522537
Idk if itll be my goty. But so far i dont think i have any complaints. If anything the systems and language was kinda hard to understand. So i just had to learn as i played. But its not even that important so you wont really fuck up not knowing it.
So far i really like everything about it. It also feels really fresh. Thats super nice to see in something other than a very simple traditional indie game.
>>
>>728522348
the equipment and skill systems are absolute shite eh? it's almost like they've never even played a final fantasy game despite their totally cool shoutout to Lord Sakaguchi
hope you have a good time trying to convince yourself you like this turd, thanks for posting
>>

jeet defending his spiritually israeli game.
>>
>>728522750
Theyre not shit, its just hard to take in when you first start out. Like reading all the rules of a board game before you play the game, you won't understand whats relevant or what any of the terms even mean.
But once you get it, its good and synergies are fun to figure out.

My point was that its not punishing if you dont interact with the gear and systems. It just makes it better when you do.
You know a sort of player choice thing, or just not punishing new players.
Like a good game

The hate for this game is so unwarranted it's hilarious.
>>
>>728522348
I pre ordered the game a few days before release as it fit my interest with the turn base plus parry mechanics. Honestly I still don't know how this game got mainstream appeal when on paper you'd think it's mechanics would appeal just to a niche group. I got it on both PS5 and PC and currently doing my second run on PC where I'm in Act 2. Once you know how to build, it's super funny how you can crush a lot of enemies though you still need to parry/dodge to survive (I play on expert). I'm excited to do the DLC once I get to Act 3.
>>
>>728522348
I know a brown person who likes this game btw
>>
>>728523814
The concept is immediately appealing and easy to understand, its pretty realistic looking and the story is easy to follow so more normal people will get hooked easy. Nothing is a turn off to a mass appeal gamer besides the combat, and the parry and dodge systems make it so you can fuck up will all the builds and still force your way through if you have good timing. It doesn't require too much effort to get going.
>>
>>728523340
It really is strange as hell. You think v would like a turn based game inspired by all their jrpgs. But i guess it really is an anime site or something.
>>
>>728522348
I liked ghe characters. Literally goonless, I loved Lune.
>>
>>728522750
FF isn't the only JRPG anon, the game also takes heavy inspiration from TTYD with the lumina stuff basically being the badge system and the difference between parry and dodge mirror defending and super guarding. Weapons are a bit underwhelming, I just found one I liked and stuck with it all game for the entire cast but the lumina stuff is pretty nice until the very end where (on release anyway) the best strat was to just stack as much damage and kill everything in one hit
>>
>>728524430
Is she the asian? I like her alot too. Shes the smartest and very pretty. On that topic. The base outfits and hairstyles are so good looking I don't really ever wanna change them out.

srs question, is something wrong on my end or is normal that ue5 is trying to fry my fucking gpu? rtx 3070 and Im getting gpu usage like in no other game

What I like about this game is that it servers as a indicator for identifying normies and real JRPG chads, the former wrongfully herald this game as a masterpiece while the matter know how overrated it is

I love it and I'm sure I've played more jrpgs than you.

>>
>>728522348
I like that it managed to be so well presented while having a story which wasn't about the power of friendship overcoming ultimate evil. Made me realise how low the bar has fallen in terms of RPG story telling and how much shit I've eaten over the years when it comes to boring tropes like the power of friendship or anime fan service clichés.

Still a bit overrated overall though.
>>
>>728522348
The gameplay surprised me in how fun it is. On paper I should hate it but its fun. I like that they didn't go overboard with "you need to min/max to stand to play correctly". The story is great, its pretty to the point and doesn't linger. I like how the dialogue flows, outside of that Clea part, it never feels like the game is directly saying "Player, your objective this. Got that?" "Hello main character I never met before, here's my lifelong secret work for helping me collect 3 acorns" the music as well obviously.
>>
>>728526475
The power of friendship isn’t a bad premise in of itself. It worked for the classic FFs and Kingdom Hearts. Execution is everything.

>>728525862
I feel a map would ruin it since the levels are linear already. At least without a map, you get the illusion of exploration.

>Game is so white, shitskin has to claim it's 'spiritually brown'
>>
>>728526893
The manor section where you talk to Clea is little more than a massive exposition dump, but I suppose it was necessary for the slower people in the audience.
>>
...I only now just realized that Expedition 60 is a reference to all those DS players doing naked challenge runs.
>>
>>728528492
And the devs are aware of it, because Alicia even gets pissy why Clea is explaining her things she already knows.
>>
>>728526475
>while having a story which wasn't about the power of friendship overcoming ultimate evil
I do appreciate that this game doesn't even have a villain. It's just a bunch of well-meaning people with conflicting ideas getting lost in the argument.
>>
>they added more content for free
awesome of them to do it.
>>
>>728528492
Definitely agree, I like how they put Clea's personality in there but it definitely feels like the "everybody caught up yet?" moment. It was really eye opening though seeing reactions, seems like half of people even after that point are still going "what's going on? I don't get it. chat help" then they end up picking the Maelle ending

LOL what the fuck is this shit?
>>
>>728529084
I personally think the ballsiest move they made was starting the game with Gustave, who’s your typical noble and virtuous JRPG hero, and then replacing him with Verso who’s a straight up anti-hero who’s killed innocent people and betrays the party all to protect his sister. Outside of Yoko Taro games, it’s rare to get a JRPG with a truly morally grey protagonist.
>>
>>728529535
Verso just feels a bit wheeeee.
>>
>>728529535
I'm shocked this is my first time seeing that shit, that looks gay as fuck and I mean that in the rudest way possible. I just don't want to have QTEs in my turn based rpgs. I'd rather full-action or just let me do my menus.
>>
>>728525862
I like that there is no map and that the HUD is hidden and minimal. It's a well-known fact that players tend to focus on mini maps and quest markers instead of the environment.

There are some levels where you can get lost, but overall the environment design and camera work is enough to guide you. A completion tracker would be nice though.
>>
>>728529565
>all to protect his sister
Well, he just wants to die. "Saving" Alicia is just a bonus.
Also, I like how Maelle called his bluff after she gommaged PAlicia.
>you were so eager to sacrifice everybody for your peace of mind, but suddenly get ultra-pissy when it comes to gommaging your own sister.
>>
>>728529460
And the joke is that the game doesn't even try to hide what's going on. The plot twist is staring you in the face from the start, you are just missing the proper context.

Don't forget to get your Visage costume for Verso. It's in the Endless Tower, lower level, to the right. Just found it there accidentally.
>>
SO MANY NEW COSTUMES AND HARISTYLES AND THE GAME IS STILL MISSING ALICIA'S EPILOGUE HAIRSTYLE.
WHAT THE FUCK GUILLIAME?
>>
>>728529535
its a dive into childhood.
optional content that they added for free after the game awards.
>>
>>728529914
>>728530298
One thing I really liked about the Osquio fight is that it really feels like fighting a childhood villain you made up in your head as a kid. Even Verso really gets into the childish LARP of slaying this ancient evil.
>>
>>728530058
And when you're at it, add Our Painted Family to the OST.
>>
>>728522348
If you get your mind blown by the story of E33, I can’t wait for you to discover books.
>>
I am still salty how badly TGA botched the sound mixing during the Une Vie a T'amier live performance.
And then they did it AGAIN with Evanescence.
>>
>>728531309
Halfway through Tolstoy's "War and Peace" right now. Nicely written, cool characters, but the story itself is nowhere as good as E33's.
But maybe you can give me some better titles.
>>
>>728522348
Still nothing but the most overrated game ever.
>>
>>728531309

Turn them off, tendy retard. God forbid turn based shiftiest has any kind of reactivity and fail states.
