I wanted to replay Xenoblade Chronicles 2 but this time on a emulator with the gacha fix and rebalance mod, this game doesnt scale with the built in scaler so you have to use a mod, ok fine but this mod has a what feels like 30% chance of just black screening on load or infinite load bug. Posting some thoughts on DQ1 HDYou think "remaking" this game would be simple but I like this a lot less than 3HD even though DQ1 (snes) was a fun experience. It feels a lot more bloated, the open-endedness of the game is also a lot worse, the combat is annoying since you have to rely on Cop Out (heh) a lot more. You can't even really grind in areas you're not suppose to "be in" yet because RNG can just fuck your asshole with bad enemy spawns (3 separate enemies or fuck it one of them just desperate hits you and gg). Even if you do XP gain is kinda ass. Some of the added scenes just felt unnecessary and I think they "abused" the cutscenes when most of them should've been a simple just go up to NPC and talk to them. Feels like it really missed the mark. I think what they should've done is fix the maping/level scaling a little so you can still explore the world to make it a bit more open, and move ALL of the princess raura scenes onto her own "route" (aka if you keep the princess with you) and visit areas for optional flashbacks.Draconic mode also feels really not well balanced. Relying on cheap skills and RNG just doesn't feel good to me. Doesn't even really feel like you can overgrind to make up for it which I liked in other DQ games.

SaGa remasters tend to be good but i haven’t played SF2 yet and haven’t kept up with what people have said about it. Is it a good remaster or should I play the original? I remember being drawn to the original as a kid because of its art style but I didn’t have the money to play it. The upscaling doesn’t look bad from a cursory look. Any issues with game balance? Sometimes when games get remastered they add content that fucks up the experience. FTR Minstrel Song Remaster is one of my favorite games of all time.

I do not have a strong opinion on it as I have not finished the two versions of the game I have played, but they are substantially different. The only one I failed was the mermaid quest because I was doing it while doing some other things and then the generation leap triggered with no way to avoid it. That was when I looked up how the generation leaps were triggered and realized what a stupid design choice it was. To complete that specific quest, you basically need to start it immediately at the beginning of a generation and always prioritize it because otherwise the counter will move too far forward and you can't continue it in the next generation. But somehow there's a quest with siblings in a tower that don't age and are still waiting for you if you jump ahead in generations. Very nonsensical and downright stupid design.

It's also not a JRPG or much of a Breath of Fire game, so give it a shot and see if you like it.
