nigga they literally mass produce this shit in a factory. just make more. there is no reason for there to be a "shortage" and the price hikes are entirely artificial.
>>
>>728705110
I just went and checked pcpartpicker, they're going for around $1100 - $1200. If you don't want to spend that much, the 5070Ti is still a very good option. Other than that, the other anon is right, there's no real need to upgrade if your GPU is still relatively high end, unless you plan on jumping into 1440p or even 4K gaming, with the latter still being a meme and not worth the money splurge.
>>
>>728699503

I built mine like 3 years ago, and it’s still great. Maybe in a couple years I’ll want more, but I’m very happy with being content with what I have. Can still game at 1440 ultrawide with high frames with a 3080ti and 5800x3d, so until that starts being an issue there’s no need. Even unoptimized UE5 games just need to be slightly tuned. I feel like people throw sliders to all ultra settings, and if they don’t immediately get 120 fps they think they need to upgrade

What's the easiest upgrade I could get to replace my basic 3070?
>>
>>728718416
Prices were slightly better 3 weeks ago. You can still get a 9070xt for $630, which is insane value. The 5070ti can be bought for $750. Those are both the best cards to buy this gen for their value.
>>
>>728716816
Well, it's enabled by default. From what I've read, the performance impact of HVCI on the newest high-end rigs - like mine >>728701671 or 9950X3D with that insane CL26 DDR5 is totally minimal and often barely noticeable. On older hardware, though, you can definitely feel it, so it's usually best to turn it off there.

Why does AI need a billion datacenter that are all subsidized by all kind of different government and countries, for what purpose are we stacking the entire economy on AI.
I understand it can help a bit as an assistant for office workers, but do we really need THIS MUCH POWER and money invested into it?
And to add to this, how come nobody is talking about the insane environmental problems this causes when the environment is always the top priority otherwise?

How long will it be until it's not just a glorified office assistant.... when will we see the impact of countries gambling their economy on this?

1.) MH Wilds is not Steam Deck verified. It is specifically stated as unsupported
2.) MH Wilds is Mixed, not Overhwlemingly Negative
3.) Borderlands 4 is not Steam Deck verified. It is specifically stated as unsupported
4.) Borderlands 4 is Mixed, not Overhwlemingly Negative
5.) RAM costs rising affects the entire consumer electronics market. That means consoles as well. It also means everything else that uses RAM, which means a shitton of electronics that are not related to gaming at all.

All in all this is an excruciatingly stupid post, either they are putting something in the water or all the people with functioning frontal lobes have gradually found the ability to leave this shithole.
>>
>>728725229
1.) AI is a new market and today's industries are centered around rampant speculation, fueling investment into it both to gain the benefit of being a first-mover and also to exploit consumers both through early adoption of the technology and exploitation of them by market manipulation to decrease supply in key areas. Essentially, these companies are using government money to funnel an explosion of growth, and then at the same time creating demand for their products by introducing artificial scarcity. It is the most blatant case of market manipulation in the history of modern economics, and it is being done by all the major players of the world.

2.) This is simply a pet theory of mine: Global fertility rates have never been lower on such a massive scale before. Every single developed nation on the planet is below replacement level, and most are and have been well below replacement for decades. There are resultingly fewer people working and functioning as a tax base. Due to the fact that sustained low fertility has a continuous downward pressure (e.g. smaller tax base causing higher taxes leading to greater difficulty in raising a family), rather than slow it appears this trend will increase. Thus, rapid expansion and development of AI is necessary to ensure economies smoothly transition into a new age of digital currency and next-generation technology.

I wouldn't call this a mistake of capitalism per se, anymore so than I would other joint ventures by governments to manipulate markets for their own benefit. Hell, the entire RAM debacle is brought about due to insanely difficult regulations that make it impossible for a competitor to ever challenge the current market leaders. The mistake was trusting governments to regulate themselves. It is incumbent upon us to encourage a drastic downsizing of government across the developed world before it is too late.

For sure, existing monopolies will just let new market entrants take their business unencumbered. The only thing preventing that is (already incredibly lax) regulation (which is actually actively incentivizing chip growth). With what fabs will these new market entrants use? Uh, the ones the government is preventing somehow I guess. If we were to truly deregulate this industry and allow market entrants it would basically just mean China gains chip production dominance. I think that would unironically be great for the consumer, maybe we could even allow their EV's to enter our markets since the only think propping up the auto industry is gov subsidy and artificial barriers for new entrants to the US market. Chinese EV's are fucking sick, I would love to own a BYD.

Yes and no. Yes, even without relevant regulations in the area current leading corps would have a leg up in maintaining market share, but that is true of many if not most industries. But mostly they would have a tougher time. Monopolies of a traditional nature are necessarily inefficient. They require a business lowering prices in such a way as to restrict entry of competitors to the market, which necessarily limits profit. After all, there is only so low you can reduce prices before you are no longer profitable. What we are witnessing is an oligarchic model in which actors collude with political entities to restrict competitors from entry into the market at all, thereby allowing them to raise prices as they see fit.

After all, what are you going to do, not buy ANYTHING that has RAM in it? Probably not, that's a shitload of consumer electronics. So basically it's a massive shit sandwich and we're all getting seconds after we finish wolfing down the first.

For those reading I would recommend listening to him on this (728731232). I misunderstood the function of the CHIP Act and did not bother researching it until this very post. My apologies. He is indeed correct, there are actually few regulations inhibiting construction of fab facilities. It really is just currently bottlenecked by bare profit motive, with competitors being locked out by time and funding constraints. There are also obviously political motives as alluded (China) but I was wrong when I said that regulations were a major barrier, they are at most minor.
