Was this really necessary back in the day?
>>
>>728754520
No. We hunched under lamps on the edge of the couch or, at worst, burned through tons of AA batteries using wormlights.

Boomers be like
>Yep, I'm ready to game
>>
>>728754520
I would just use the transfer pak to play Pokémon.
>>
Why do zoomers need videos to play at 2x speed?
>>
>>728754520
Beat pausing between every street light
>>
There's a free thing called THE SUN that you were supposed to be under in order to use a gameboy.
>>
>>728754520
Idk what that is but I did play on a gameboy
>>
>>728755986
>free
Not if politicians have anything to say about it

I just used one of these. The glare from the bulb was pretty bad, but it was either that, or not playing at all, because they weren't backlit.

too bulky
>>
>>728756881
Oh fuck I remember having one of those. It was a piece of shit to keep on the Gameboy.
>>
>>728756881
I remember playing pokemon at the rythm of roadside lamp posts
Good tiems
>>
>>728754520

you'll never finish without one
>>

What's behind-the-scene implication of the text? He's not their real child?
>>
>>728758174
Believe it or not anon not every ad used to be some sort of quip or pun.
>>
>>728754757
dude is building a gundam to play on lol
>>
>>728755986
>the sun
You never touched a gameboy in your life if you think they worked well in sunlight.
>>
>>728757853
Based. You weren’t *really* gaming unless your Game Boy had the full Voltron setup-magnifying glass, side lights, external speakers, caffeine drip, and prayer. Those clamshell light-magnifier combos were like strapping a mech suit onto your handheld.
>>
>>728754520
>can't play in dark
>light causes huge glare
how the fuck did anyone play on this thing?
>>
>>728758265
You say this but the ad is literally advertising a flashlight by saying
>>728758174
YOU CAN'T STAY IN THE DARK FOREVER...
>>
>>728756881
>>728754757
>>728754520
>this was okay but sega mega drive addons are a meme to this day
Explain it to me without sounding like a mentally deranged nintendo cultist.
>>
>>728763194
All of the gameboy add ons were accessories made by third party companies and completely unnecessary to play a game. Where the 32x and CD were official sega products and were required to play several games
>>
>>728763194
Segroids are so fucking stupid.
>>
>>728763457
>Where the 32x and CD were official sega products
And they also cost a gorillion dollars.
>>
>>728763194
That was not ok
>>
>>728763194
The lighting addons are pretty necessary to play gameboy in the dark or generally low light conditions. Everything else is a bit superfluous.
>>
>>728763194
Who the FUCK wants to smother your gaming console in 50 metric tons of plastic shit? I could care less if it was the Game Boy or the Game Gear, the only thing add-ons add is the regret of having purchased them in the first place.
>>
HE'S GONNA TAKE YOU BACK TO THE PAST
TO PUT BATTERIES UP YOUR GAMEBOY'S ASS
>>
>>728754520
Nobody bought those things.
>>
>>728763194
The Game Boy accessories didn't greatly contribute to Nintendo's exit of the hardware business
