Post how the game will be even further dumbed down than Skyrim.
>>
>>728784256
I don't feel like Skyrim dumbed anything down from Oblivion, from a gameplay perspective it's a lot more advanced. Sure they capped the movement speed and made the NPCs slightly less dynamic, rolled a couple of skills into one - but none of it made it feel like I was playing a dumber game than Oblivion.

>E3 was still a thing when TES VI was announced
>>

I think they've waited so long because they wanted to use AI integration with their NPCs but couldn't figure it out. Now AI is so advanced that it could tell them how to pull it off and so they did.

>>728784567
>No Haggling
>No spellmaking
>No attributes so how you level doesn't matter at all
>Speechcraft gutted
>Gear doesn't break
Lots of little things got sanded away with Skyrim. The two major improvements I liked were shopping was quick and alchemy was sorted nicely. Neither of which were put in Oblivin remastered :(
>>
>>728784256
We've listened to your complaints and we hear you, loud and clear.
>Skills have been consolidated; every weapon uses the weapon skill, every spell uses the magic skill, and any skullduggery is governed by your stealth skill. No more having to grind a different magic skill to cast your purchased spells, no more having to respec if you find a different cool weapon.
>No more having to level to gain the perks you need, perks are instead purchased from the scrolls store available from the pause menu at any time for player convenience.
>We heard your complaints about the dialogue system in FO4, and decided to do something about it. Instead of three options that all say "yes", there is one option that says "absolutely yes".
>The map is sixteen times bigger than Skyrim, and that means longer travel times. To alleviate this, you can now fast travel anywhere, at any time, by using a traveller's rune available from the scrolls store.
>Combat can be difficult, even dangerous, or deadly. To that end, we have removed hit points. Instead the player can simply choose if they're alive or dead from the pause menu. Tell your story, your way.
>Quests can be tedious, even challenging. Now, any quest objectives glow like the sun and are visible through walls. We respect your time however, so for player convenience any quest can be completed through the scrolls store menu, so you can get back to the game.
>The concept of races is problematic, so we have taken the brave step of removing them. Now, with the new character creation system, the player can make their character look however they want to, no labels, no inherent differences, no body types, an industry first.
It just works.
>>
>>728785051
UE5 isn't even 5 years old unc, wtf you on about?
>>
>>728785846
I'll give you spellmaking but does the rest really make it dumber? It was just busywork, tiny inconsequential puzzles to be solved and once they were they became nothing but an inconvenience.
Attributes like haggling were absorbed into the perks of the skill trees so leveling did still matter.
>>
>>728786584
>Attributes like haggling were absorbed into the perks of the skill trees so leveling did still matter.
Attributes were your stats like Strength and Intelligence. Skyrim leveling is just filling a bar and spending a colored bar point and a skill point. Previous leveling needed you to level skills governed by an attribute to get more points for it when you leveled up.
>>
>>728786172
>uh uh
>number go up
>vs number not go up
>>
>>728787093
I meant to say attributes like personality (which is directly linked to haggling) Along with all other perks unlocked via attributes are now in the skill tree.
>>
>>728787371
Gotcha. Upon reflection I'll give you that combat got a fresh coat of paint to it. For better or worse is in the eye of the beholder. Dual wielding still feels weird to me in Skyrim. But I'm still holding firm that most other systems got dumbed down. "Busywork" getting QoL'd away makes the game lose some of the charm for me.

>ES VI NO ETA

Bethesda are delusional if they think they're ever striking gold again. TES VI will be like MHW, it will get the week 1 10 million sales off of brand name alone, then it will immediately die once people realize how shit it is and won't sell another copy again, killing the brand. There won't be mods, because they want to curate and control the market to sell mods themselves. Mods carried their shit IPs post Oblivion, they just had no clue, and no competition, so they thought they could ride the wave forever, I can already see the UE store assets, AI slop, and jeet out sourcing prints all over the game, and it isn't even halfway through development, because that's what modern Bethesda is.
>>
>>728779645
I'd rather have more starfield, 2bh (like guns over swords, shrimple as.)
>>
>>728779746
If it under performs they'll just rerelease skyrim for the Neuralink 2 and they'll survive 1000 more years.
>>
>>728788001
I agree that it might have less charm because of streamlining but it ends up feeling like a more solid game as a result. Oblivion was great when playing it at a time when I had no idea how games worked, the systems were a mystery and it made the game feel much grander than it actually was. After growing an analytical brain and playing it again I started to realize how shallow and broken it all actually is, I came to appreciate the streamlining of Skyrim more as it takes away some of the jank and leaves a more focused game. Sure there comes a point where the QoL becomes too much and you just want some of that whimsical brokenness back but Skyrim struck a fine balance I feel. They can still add a lot of new features to it and bring spellmaking back.

The only actual Bethesda made games you listed were Fallout 4 and Shartfield. Retard.
>>
>>728788001
I personally think that the major skill/minor skill/attribute system was unpleasant to deal with. You had to know in advance which skills are useful and which weapon type you will use. While in Skyrim you can try things and decide on the go.
>>
>>728787370
Based retard
>>
>>728779645
Each beth game gets worse, Oblivion was already terrible and its been 20 years since then.
>>
>>728792174
Yeah you can hit a wall easily in Oblivion if you don't know what you're doing. Although I blame this mostly on infinitely scaling enemies, rather than the leveling system itself.
>>
The only sad thing is if it bombs, they will drag the franchise down with them instead of handing it over to someone else. How they responded to New Vegas's success is a glimpse of this. Fallout and TES are being held hostage by greedy egotistical clowns LARPing as their creators when all the original talents that built the setting left a long time ago
>>
>>728786584

Only 2 dialogue choices. Yes and Sarcastic Yes (Reddit Option).

They will remove skills entirely and you just gain a level up that improves everything you do by 0.5% with a pop-up that says "Your power increased."

Game will be built around a new gimmick called Sword Singing that's actually just Skyrim shouts yet again.

Core aspect of the game will be base building but it will be more tedious and less functional than F4 and Starfield.
The main plot will be that there was a war in Hammerfell and that's why the procedually generated landscape is empty and you need to rebuild it.

They will go out of their way to make Redguards more african and less arabic, when they originally weren't african-coded at all. But they'll be super advanced and smart.
>>
>>728779645
if they haven't wasated time with shartfield, we would have gotten tes6 and fo5. with tes 7 being in the works.
Fuck todd
>>
>>728792682
>handing it over to someone else
Like who?
>New Vegas's success
The lowest selling 3D Fallout game, wouldn't call that a success.
>>
>>728789751
Nta but I disagree. Removing attributes is part of the reason why magic feels underpowered in late game. It takes ages to kill stuff.
It also takes away build options, like a spell blade class that uses magic to increase their strength.
Also, taking away attributes didn't actually streamline anything, because instead of a seperate attribute screen, the skill tree gets bloated instead.
>>
>>728792759
>Only 2 dialogue choices. Yes and Sarcastic Yes (Reddit Option).
So more dialogue choices than in Skyrim?
>>
>>728793034
you can shitpost and call new vegas bad or something retarded like that but you absolutely cannot claim that new vegas was not profitable
but in any case, not like the current team at obsidian can make a new fallout on the level of NV, it's not possible without the talent
>>
>>728793180
No, that's all you get per NPC, no extra dialogue where you can ask questions.
NPCs will just monologue at you and then you can say Yes or Yes.
>>
>>728781313
>>728784256
If they gut mod support it will die as quickly as Saarfield. Mods are the only reason Skyrim is still played and is genuinely good. Oblivion is shit even with mods and Morrowind mods are mostly optional compared to the other two.

I never said NV was bad, I prefer it over F3. I am just looking at it from an objective point of view. It's the lowest selling 3D Fallout game, why did people expect Zenimax/Bethesda Softworks to start handing out the IP to different studios? And no doubt New Vegas made money, considering how much of the game was already prepared for them. Still, who exactly would you hand the TES and Fallout license to? Arkane is stuck making that Blade game, ID Tech sucks for open-world games apparently, microsoft's other studios are either dead or stuck on live service slop.

It's a chicken and egg thing. You cannot have a mod scene without a base game that people enjoy playing without mods.
>>
>>728784256
You shouldn't worry about it being dumbed down. You should worry about it being like starfield.
>>
>>728782134
I laughed out loud at the space shout. Same as in Skyrim, the first shout you get is the best one.
>>
At least we know there won't be a voiced protagonist because they're way too fucking lazy to have multiple ones for different races.
>>
>>728793498

You say that like they're aware of anything other than property rights and turnkey operations.

Every time paid mods has been on the table they've proven they're willing to let it die for pennies or simply to hoard their own intellectual.

Cyberpunk I don't really mind because you're not supposed to be your own character. You can make decisions that slightly deviate (not including the ending) missions and approach combat in different ways, but V is a pre-established character.
