Imagine if Switch 2 had come out two years ago. It would have not only had TotK, but big RPGs like Xenoblade X DE. Instead we have gotten a big nothing. Prime 4 flopped, DK had a decent start, but 30 dollar DLC has killed all discussion. It seems like Nintendo doesn't actually know what to do with their franchises anymore and has resorted to making things as generic as possible, hoping to pull in whatever bites. I imagine the next twenty years for them will become nothing but Mario and Pokemon, since those seem to be the only consistent franchises to pull in money.
