I don't really get the backlash, I mean the game looks shit but not because of AI, it just looks like generic muh dark fantasy (DnDslop with degeneracy). I use AI to generate code all the time at work and it's fine. I want games to use AI for background NPCs so they can respond dynamically to player behaviour rather than having five canned lines and one VA who voices ten NPCs. As long as they still use real voices for main characters, still use real artists and real programmers, what's the problem? If a game uses AI to replace humans instead of supplement them, you will notice it and not buy it because it looks shit. If you were going to buy the game until you found out they had used AI, that's a bit silly IMO.
