You can play as different characters now and they each have different stats that have a noticeable affect on your handling, speed, flight, etc.The air ride mode is also way better this time. The new tracks are great and they brought back all the old ones. The game’s speed has been amped up from the first game and a bunch of mechanics have been retuned to make it pretty in-depth with each vehicle and setup having their own optimal lines. It’s a racing game that doesn’t give baggers the free win, too. You’re rewarded for frontrunning, which is great.Top Ride is back and it’s alright, still kinda the odd one out but you can use all the vehicles in it instead of just the two stars from the original. The way the lobby system works lets people start games in any mode within the lobby so it’s fun to play a top ride race every now and then. There’s also a single player mode called Road Trip that’s kinda like the 3DS Smash’s classic mode but it’s longer and has a story. There’s a bunch of misc stuff too like very in depth vehicle customization for appearances and the gummy stuff. I wouldn’t say get a Switch 2 just for this game, but if there’s another game you really want that’s a system seller, get this alongside it. It’s really fun.
