Isn't it ultimately good if some deranged copyright troll makes a game more niche or obscure than it has any right to be? Part of the appeal of these old weird PC games is their esoteric nature, especially since quite a number can't run well on modern hardware or are just outright impossible to legally acquire anymore. People like scandals. That's why No One Lives Forever is seen as a golden goose for the boomer shooter community, or why AM2R is remembered while Samus Returns was forgotten. The little bear girl game is really nothing special on its own, its only cultural context prior to this DMCA shit was being shown off at MacWorld Tokyo, a very important event in its own right. So it having this extra story gives it an air of mystique that you wouldn't get from other games in that same period, like F.A.K.K. 2 or Black & White.
