It's actually considered a faux-pas to name your work after a genre. It's like if Tolkien called his books Fantasy. It's just not done.
>>728902064I appreciate your autism, anon.
Tbf there probably is some fantasy series somewhere called "Fantasy."
>>728902064It's named Cyberpunk 2077 tho, not just "Cyberpunk"If Final Fantasy is fine, so it this
Who cares.
>>728902458There have been many fantasies after final fantasy so that is also not ok.
>>728902064That's why there's a year after it
CD Projekt Red didn't create Cyberpunk, they adapted it. It's based on someone else's work, just like Witcher.
>>728902318"Dungeons & Dragons" is basically this
>>728905280the first final fantasy game was like one last hail mary before the studio shut down, hence the name
>>728902064It's fine for Cyberpunk because it's not just the name of the genre but also what you play as.
Anon.Go read the original "Cyberpunk" novel. The one that coined the term. It's only barely related to computers. The story is about a juvenile delinquent (the punk) that is sent to a bootcamp by his parents so he doesn't end up in jail down the line.Really.
