It's actually considered a faux-pas to name your work after a genre. It's like if Tolkien called his books Fantasy. It's just not done.

Go read the original "Cyberpunk" novel. The one that coined the term. It's only barely related to computers. The story is about a juvenile delinquent (the punk) that is sent to a bootcamp by his parents so he doesn't end up in jail down the line.
