Take a quest and kill the quest giver after he's useless. Always take the optimal route, anything else is literally a waste of time. Nothing has meaning in their worlds. It's like a theme park. You pick the stands you like or that promise the needed gear and ignore the rest. Don't like gale? Kill him for 25xp. Helped the druids? Kill them and loot the grove to buy gear in the underdark. Ready to move on? Kill anything, so that you can enter act 2 with level 9. Finished moonrise? Kill last light and loot everything. After hitting level 12, there's no reason to quest around in act 3, I head straight to the brain.

Vincke is very dictatorial CEO (not a bad thing), which keeps Larian games with a certain flavour to them. Vincke also seems to seriously love RPGs, which is a good thing. Only Morrowind got close, and that was really only for Dark Elves, and even that was mostly just resorted to putting it in the in game books. one thing larian always fails at is giving proper roleplaying immersion to the player's insert character. this goes for both dos & bg3.all intents & purposes durge is the mc in bg. if you select your own character the only thing you get is cut content. for example, it doesn't matter if you pick a different character background like soldier, urchin, nobke, criminal etc. the only way this comes into play is if you perform actions within that category. no extra story, gameplay mechanics, character interactions where your background matters.if they improve in this core aspect, they will earn my money.
