Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is a shameless copy ripoff in every single aspect, with no soul originality, vision, personality, sensibility, character design or anything, made by some potheads from the netherlands. Good thing theres a new Jet Set Radio coming and also a remake. English not my first language.

Shame the new JSR looks even worse.

that's cool, but have you found a job yet?
>>
Have they said anything about the sequel besides announcing it?
Also kinda weird they aren't shoving Crazy Taxi or Jet Set into Sonic Crossworlds

team reptile do what segadont (give fans sequels)
>>
Ironically both the new JSRF and BRCF have some weird online social thing going on that will probably be lame as hell and yeah its a rip off, that's the whole point; they did what sega wouldn't
>>
>>728918321
Isn't the most popular mod for BRC online coop tho? I would buy the sequel on nothing but it integrating that feature

>yellow painted power lines

>game set out to be more JSR since sega hadn’t made one in 3 console cycles
>game is just more JSR with some tighter controls
I fail to see the issue

But since we’re talkin BRC, I liked how the music choices and setting contrasted JSR’s hopefull vision of “the future” from the early 2000s with the nostalgia poisoned and kinda gritty vibe of post 2020. Also faux being both “fake” as a writer, “fake” as your player characters identity, and your “foe” is real fuckin cool.
Only disappointing part was the missed opportunity for some kind of level editor and ability to share those levels online, like you already have the brain machine dream levels in the story, just let me make fun maps for my friends. Well that and the lack of the a dj professor k analog but you can’t really fill those shoes and people don’t listen to the radio in current year they have playlists

The game was cool but repetitive, I really didn't like any of the boss or dream stages and I wish I could have skated more with challenges or battles instead. Music was bretty gud though.

>>game is just more JSR with all momentum removed in favour of boost gameplay, huge empty open levels, and way more shitty story
Fixed.

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk plays nothing like Jet Set Radio
The gameplay feels more like Tony Hawk

>>728917018
BRC is 10 times the game than whatever turd sega is going to eventually squeeze out

There’s cool stuff to find. I accidentally discovered an out of bounds maze area that had a tomb with the graffiti soul logo on it. One of the coolest gaming moments I’ve had of late.

>every zone is a point score thing and then you fight a rival team
shit was played out by the mall
>>
>>728922349
the boost jump and sliding definitely trivialises things
>>
>No momentum
>Turn and stop on a dime
Shit just doesn't feel good. No sense of actual player presence.
>>
>>728921663
Is this the secret zone you get through the airvent in the mall? This was cool but kinda pointless
>>

Everything in games is pointless

Hopefully the sequel turns out alright. Based on the trailer, I'm not really liking it to much.

Music sounds like Amnesiac Scanner which is weird. I thought they were going for an online sandbox thing which is lame. I'd rather more story. Also not set in amsterdam because that's a lame fucking setting that exists because they want more non-whites in their game
>>
>>728920501
Level editor for changing the base would have been honestly so cool, even as a reward after you're done with the game's story.
>>
I 100%'ed the game and i think the biggest problem is the level design. its just lame and not as iconic as JSRF. The skyscraper zone is an uninteresting knockoff of the JSRF zone and in function its just a giant hallway. The mall is a big circle and the oil rig thing has terrible navigation. The first 2-3 zones are all identical but the (not) shibuya station has decent level design. Nothing is really as iconic as the china town zone with the dragon or the slum zone with the packed buildings / industrial zone (also with terrible navigation) or the rollercoaster zone

99th street is one of the best video game locations in history
>>
>>728917018
Having played it a while back, it was okay. Only things I didn't like were...
>Initial soundtrack was shit
I know I unlocked more songs as I went along, but by that point I justed muted the music and put the JSR/F soundtracks on in the background and it made it 100% more enjoyable
>Bike/Skateboard/Blade mechanic was just annoying
They had no strengths/weaknesses and the only difference was discovering an area that needed one of them to get to an unlockable, going back to the base to switch them, then going back again to get said unlockable. It was just annoying and wished it was either on-the-fly or they just didn't have these areas and let us use what we wish.
Also less minor was the graffiti system, which was nice, I wish was more like JSR/F where you had your ones selected to always use instead of accidentally using the wrong input and end up with one of the many other ugly ones.
>>
>>728917018
Sadly, it'll end up playing better than whatever sega puts out because westerners grew up playing Tony hawk while the Japanese are trying to reinvent the wheel
>>
>>728924119
What the fuck? How is there a trailer for a sequel out already? And it's 3 months old? Indie games really are the future, it feels like PS2 era again where sequels to games fly out faster than you can play them
>>
>>728927197
Calling it Hyperfunk was probably a mistake for marketting purposes
>>
>>728924119
I think focusing on the hyper speed is a good direction but hopefully the bosses are better, better stages, enemies to fight, and more mission variety. I honestly beat Bombrush and can't remember much about the game and think the game is under coooked in a lot of areas.
