>Hifi Rush just removed Denuvo
>Company of Heroes 3 just removed Denuvo
>Dead Island 2 removed Denuvo

Surely there will be proof of Denuvo effecting their performance, right?

RIGHT!?
>>
Nobody plays those games so we'll never know.
>>
Hi-Fi rush i was able to get 120 @ 4K.
Dead Island 2 i ran at 60fps all times.
So the answer yes it effected performance
>>

What was it before and I need an honest assessment instead of anti-Denuvo cringe posting.
>>
>>728919104
Post benchmarks. I was able to run Hifi rush at 120 @ 4K on Denuvo Hifi Rush

Denuvo is a service. That means it charges developers on an ongoing basis for the privilege of using its DRM. If you look at Amazon Marketplace's listing for their Anti-Tamper product, it's $25,000 per month (to start) and $0.50 per install. Larger companies that release several games per year probably get a custom rate that makes it cheaper per product.
>Hifi Rush
When it changed hands from Xbox (Bethesda) to Krafton, they probably looked at the $50,000 per month + $0.50 per copy sold bill for starters and said "fuck no".
>Company of Heroes 3
A similar thing happened here. They were originally with SEGA, then decided to self-publish. They looked at the license fee and determined it wasn't worth it.
>Dead Island 2
Your third example, the only one of the three where it's not because of leaving the publisher, probably has to do with the ongoing licensing cost for this product. The game is going to be 3 years old soon, and Dead Island 3 is on the way.

>$50,000 per month
My bad, $25,000 per month.
>>
>>728918547
They don't feel like paying for it. Back in the early Denuvo days the service was one time fee and they'll keep it forever. Nowadays you have to pay them to keep Denuvo in.
>>
Cool. Might play hifi rush now
>>
>>728919343
you are on 4chan you retarded shill
>>
other than hifi rush there are no good denuvo games, who the hell wants to pirate fifa and F1 2025?

>>
>>728920180
MKdev just released a Persona 5 crack. Also he seems to create a tool to make future Denuvo cracks easier.

yes.

Thank you for helping to fight misinformation. I get annoyed seeing people pretend that Denuvo is a one-time thing that developers can continue reaping the benefits of for free forever.
>>
>>728919343
They just blessed me to pirate all this shit by removing denuvo, retard.

Haven't played HR or DI2 after Denuvo was taken off yet, and I don't play a lot of modern games so I don't really encounter Denuvo that much either, but:
>play MHStories 2 demo (no Denuvo)
>love it (even though the demo is nowhere near a vertical slice)
>game plays and runs with no issues
>finally end up buying it (or getting it as a Christmas gift, I forget)
>game runs fine, but there's this odd hitch every minute or so, just a little hiccup
>the longer the game runs, the longer that "hiccup" lasts

Now I don't remember how far apart each "hiccup" was, but image it happens of 0.01 seconds every minute. It starts at 59.99 seconds of proper gameplay, and 0.01 seconds of a freeze.
Every time the freeze happens, it gets slightly longer, starting out missing a few missable frames, but it just keeps on stacking up.
I didn't time it to figure out the rate it goes up, but what started as a 0.01 second missed frame becomes a half second, then a full 3 seconds. Now the game's got 57 seconds of running fine, and 3 seconds where the game just freezes.
It didn't occur to me how bad this thing could get until way later, since I'd usually just reset the game if the lag built up for too long, but at one point I left the game running, paused while I'm off doing an errand.
I came back to find the game's ratio is now about 5 seconds good, 55 seconds bad, and I'm wracking my brain trying to remember where I saved last.
I'd say I was about 30 seconds of running from the nearest save point, meaning I'd have to sit there for about 5+ minutes waiting for the moment I can move again before running as much as I can, incrementally getting closer until I finally saved and quit... the game bluescreened.

Anyway, I still got about a third of the way through the game by being more careful, but eventually I gave up on it.
One day not TOO far into the future, the game gets Denuvo taken off, and WHAT DO YOU KNOW, THE LAG SPIKES ARE GONE???? WAOOOOOW

I'm shocked at how few people know Denuvo's a subscription service.
I'm also shocked at how some devs just keep it on long after the game's not profitable anymore, I swear it's like they're keeping it on just to do a shareholder meeting and say "look, no piracy! We win! All hail money!"
>>
>>728918547
lol no
Pirates struggle with lying when Denuvo is a subscription only now and gets removed eventually.
>>
>>728924657
>>728919451
You're forgetting pubs/devs grandfathered in through old deals (Ubisoft and Rebellion)
>>
>>728924587 (me)
Also it's kinda bullshit that a demo of a game has objectively way better performance and fewer glitches than the full release, and that that shit was put in voluntarily.
Come to think of it, I'm like 90% sure it WAS a gift because I would've refunded it if I bought it myself.
>>
>>728919343
good morning saar please redeem our game
>>
>>728919104
>effected

ESL-kun...
>>
>>728924657
because its not a subscription service. At least for big publishers like EA/Ubisoft/SEGA/Chinese Pubs
>>
>>728920312
Couldn't help but notice you didn't mention a single game mechanic in your post on this board about video games.

>le nu-god of war but for 3 year olds with pandering AND you must attack in beat or you wont get le epic arcade score number go up meme XD

>>728924207
I haven't played Stellar Blade, but the demo seemed fine and others have said it's good. Khazan is also from South Korea, not China and is good. Wukong is good.
>>
>>728918547
it turns out that console exclusives never went away
>>
>>728927183
>I haven't played Stellar Blade, but the demo seemed fine and others have said it's good
It's about a 7/10 game with a really hot main character. The demo only includes the really good (boss fight) and good enough parts (linear action platforming).
>>
>>728918547
It's proof that the fees are now affecting the game's*financial* performance, which is the performance that matters.
