So I installed a patch and the animations all became, like, 300% faster. Initially I just thought well it's supposed to be like this, he's stalking around with purpose, it's suspenseful. But yeah. All in all though, the game is great. Surprisingly mature and dark for 1996, and good voice acting and writing as well especially for an early game. The combat is simple but very satisfying, with enough weapon variety to keep things interesting. The spell effects are also well done and conceptually horrific. Even in the intro cutscene a lady gets basically exploded into droplets of blood. Very effective gothic horror atmosphere in Blood Omen. I look forward to playing the rest of the games.
